  • Theres also a black one. I read the green one, I agree its pretty good.
  • I have em all for $10 per book. Let me know if your intrested
  • I have the trilogy as well. I like his perspective on situations, because it makes you think differently than the Harrington trilogy does. Combine the 2 sets, and you will become a better player.
  • snap theres a black one?

can anyone give me the details on it.

i only know of the 2, and i would like to collect the last one.
  • Yes a review of the black one would be great.

So far the green one is the best.
  • The black book is called "Poker - The Real Deal" published 2004, ISBN 0-689-87590-8. I thought is was a good beginner's book and it has enough humour in it to keep it from being "dry" reading. There is a lot of wasted pages talking about the history of playing cards then it starts with the real "basics" of the game. He touches on positioning and playable hands and then covers pretty well everything that a beginning player should know for home games, sit-and-gos and tournies and takes you into a mock WSOP tournament where you are playing against the PRO's but there is no intermediate or advanced strategy in this book. I think the part that sticks in my head is the section "Your Defining Moment". There isn't a tournie to this date that I have been busted at that I don't think "Well, Iguess that was my defining moment"!! This would be an excellent gift book for a newbie.
  • You can get the green, blue, and black (which is now coloured maroon I believe) in a boxed set for $49.99 at Chapters online. A decent deal I'd say.
