  • High Stakes Poker Season 1

    Barry vs Sam Farah
    AA KK

Sammy Spikes a K on the FLOP
  • Most AA hands do not go to showdowns, and many of those that do will be against other big hands all in preflop (or way too slowly post flop in this case) vs KK QQ JJ AK type things. Just makes it seem like it happens more often.

PS, do not check that flop in future unless you like giving potential flush and straight draws free cards and then getting stacked after if they hit and get not much if they miss.

The OP's title was what are the odds... I guess he thought he must not happen very often. It looks like Ali is just trying to show (with an example) that it does. :D

EDIT: oh.. and the odds of someone else having KK when you have aces, is 19.5 to 1. Same odds of someone having KK when you hold any hand that doesn't have a king in it.

If you want to know the odds of one player being dealt AA and another being dealt KK it would be 1 in 4290 ( I think .... 220 to 1 to get Pocket Aces, and 19.5 to 1 that someone has KK.) It's late though.. so I'm probably wrong... I'll double check my math in the morning.
