$20 S&G vs. $10 S&G

Anyone here playing the $20 at Stars and have some thoughts as to how it compares to the $10? There is still a lot of bad players at the $10 tables, but I would expect the jump from $10 to $20 is a lot more noticable than the jump from $5 to $10 as far as calibre of play goes.

Anyone have any $20 experience?

  • In my experience, the biggest difference that you will find as you rise the ranks in stars SNGs is found in the bubble battles.

Early on, there are still plenty of bad players and play is almost identical to the $10 events, but once the field is reduced, I find that the bubble battles become a lot more intense. This is to say that they can last quite a bit longer than on the $10 tourneys.

I found that the level of competition on stars gets really hard really fast and that by 20+2, it almost becomes not worth playing there anymore. Sure, the $5 games are great and the $10 games are still pretty good, but the average calibre of player on the stars $20+2 sngs is probably similar to the Party $50+5 or even $100+9.

Once I started making enough money to want to move up in stakes, it made more sense to move to Party to keep more fish in the game. The structure is poor, but if you adjust a bit, you will find they are far more profitable, especially as you move up.

Ther is virtually NO difference at all between party $10+1, $20+2, and $30+3

    That's my opinion anyways
