  • Sklanskys Tournement Poker for Advanced Players.

I just got my copy from Amazon.ca the other day, so I havent finished it yet, but so far it seems great.

It doenst go into specific strategy like the Theory of Poker, or Holdem Poker for Advanced players, so dont be alarmed to find out it is a bit of a small book. It is still worth it.

Ill let you know more once Ive finished.

  • Is it an easier read than Theory of Poker?? I think that Sklansky really knows his stuff, but if theory of poker is any indicator, he's not much of a writer.
It would be nice to get a good book on tournament play. Most books don't touch the subject.
  • Sklansky's TPFAP is a fantastic book for tournaments.

While there is quite a bit of NLHE content in the book, it would also help if you knew how to play NLHE cash games well. It's hard to recommend any book out there as being a top-notch NLHE book, but there are a few good books out there. I like the Ciaffone & Reuben book best.

I would recommend understanding and being comfortable with the ideas in Theory of Poker before being concerned with information as specific as playing in NLHE tournaments. It's not an easy book to read, but it's well worth the effort.
