  • This has to be the stupedest post I have ever seen, a constant ping on your DNS server will not increase your internet speed. I won't even bother to explain...in fact wtf did I even reply...thanks for wasting 15 seconds of my day tool.
  • Ali please explain how this is supposed to increase internet speed.... or why on earth you were tricked into thinking it would?
  • Just another old wives tale.... Ping xxx.xxx.xxx -t simply does a "hello, are you there?" to an ip address over and over until you tell it to stop... If you left it running while your were surfing it would actually marginally slow you down because of the increased data traffic. There are some ways you can increase your speed, actually by reducing your overhead, but not what I would recommend for the computer neophytes. The best way for you to keep your computer running at it's fastest, both for general and internet use is to keep it clean, ie spyware and virus free. Way better "bang for the buck".
Have a look here if want but if you mess your pc up, I can't take any responsibility....

Remember, you CAN turn your PC into a vegetable, so be careful.. Also any improvements you see will be very marginal at best....

If you get in trouble, I can help your out. For a fee!

Oh, and by the way, that "black box" that Ali is referring to is a suedo DOS command prompt.. lol

*Maybe this should have been in the advertising section..:) I'm not really looking for new business tho...
  • The only people this will help is those on a dialup connection. Even then it will only prevent a disconnection (if the ISP has a diconnect policy) and not speed anything up.

www.bklviper.com is one of my favourites for XP tweaks.
It shows things that can be disabled depending on how you use your computer. Use at own risk.
