My "Stats WTF does it all mean" Question
OK, so here are my numbers, about 15 000 hands in each sample, all LHE, 6 players max at poker stars:
$0.50/1 $1/2
VP$IP 28 28
VP$SB 41 37
Folded SB 77 78
Folded BB 62 63
Att. to Steal 17 18
Won $ WSF 38 37
BB/100 +1.70 -0.70
WSD 31 31
W$ at SD 53 52
PF Raise 11 11
So my question is twofold:
honest criticism of my numbers so far (I realize the sample size isn't huge, but I believe it accurately reflects how I play)
why the big (at least I think it's big) discrepancy between my BB/100 at the 2 different levels and how must I adjust my play to beat the 1/2 level
Thanks for your time,
Young Grimmm

You're PFR numbers are similar to what I'm raising in full games, so I think you can open up your open raising and 3 betting hands.
I think you're WTSD numbers look a little on the weak side as well possibly. Hard to really tell from numbers where your holes may be, since post-flop play is generally tougher (closer decisions) and variance is king in shorthanded games. Post some hands. 6 max is so much better than the monotony of full ring (IMHO).
aim for 22-24% vpip
and around 17-20% pfr
In other words in only about 5% or less of your hands should you be cold calling raises or limping.
Your stats are 28 and 11 so about 17% of the time you are doing this.
You are getting away with it at the low level, where many beginners sit but at the higher level you are playing with a lot of experienced grinders who are killing you.
