25NL - Flop top 2 in re-raised pot

Read on this villian is that he is a bit spewy but aggressive. My notes are that he calls too much Pre-flop and folds too much Post-flop.

I had come over the top of his raises several times in the last 30 or so hands. And was probably going to play back at me soon.

You guys like my line? Hate it? My bet sizing? Aggression?

  • The reraise preflop seems pretty bad against the villian you described, I mean you know he's not gonna fold. Calling is probably fine if he raises a ton of hands there and there's nothing wrong with just folding. The flop seems fine too, though if he's really spewy like you said this is probably a good spot to slowplay and let him bluff off his stack on the turn.
  • I hate the reraise preflop against this type of player. If you have been coming over the top of his raises and were expecting him to play back soon why would you reraise with KJ?
Calling or putting him in on the flop are both fine.
  • preflop play is a little sketchy against a player who is opening a lot of pots preflop and calling when people are reraising him. KJ isn't that strong of a hand to be reraising preflop, especially when you are going to be getting called. You've hit a great flop here and you don't want this guy to fold, i'm prolly going to slow play and let him spew his chips off to me here, there's no way you're folding top two here.
  • OK so I think you all are saying you don't like my re-raise. :)

I wasn't looking for him to fold on the flop here, I was hoping for a call. Then check the flop and fold to my bet. That line happens all the time at this level and his stack is the perfect size. On the next street he can easily be making a decision for the rest of his stack.

That's my thought but it looks like I need to re-evaluate.

I was hoping he had A-K or A-J maybe even K-Q here and was going to give me his stack. If he's got A-Q I'm pricing him out of a draw and that is a mistake for sure. I don't think he raised UTG with 5-5 but it is always possible, at a 5 max table UTG = Hi-Jack. Also set of K's or J's are unlikely because I have one of each.

How often should have the best hand here?
