What's the longest session you've done at a table?

The longest I've ever played (losing) at a table was 16 hours and I thought it was quite long. A friend of mine just told me he did a 36 hour stretch (winning).

Post whether you ended up or down at the end.

  • Thursday at 4PM until Sunday at 5PM.
    73 hours.
I got up to piss, shit, eat and play Wheel of Fortune to 'clear my head'.

Probably 70 hours of table time.

Winning. 1/2NL at Binion's with no max.

Bought in for $400, left with $4870.

Wow, nice ROI! Almost worth that grind. Almost. I mean I love the game, but I think after 20 hours or so straight I'd be ready to shoot myself. :o

Oh, and that 7 or 8 hour session was comprised of a small tournament and some before and after side games. I had a fairly profitable night.

Edit: Personally, my endurance has never really been tested yet. I primarily play local home games and online, so I don't think I've ever gone longer than 7 or 8 hours. I'm sure I could play longer, given the oppurtunity.
  • The Bristol Bender was my longest stretch to date. 22 1/2 hours for the main tourney, then played side games until we hit the 24-hour mark. Fun night, a couple days to recover ;)
  • Casino is about 15 hours, nothing too major.

We had a pretty amazing run once where a bunch of us met at a friends restaurant for breakfast, and then moved to the poker table he had upstairs. That was Saturday morning. There was a revolving cast of players, but the game continued well into Sunday evening. That was a fun weekend.

After about 36 hours your body starts to ache. But I was drink one Sobe energy drink per orbit so my mind was still alive and wanted to play. But Saturday at about 11PM I thought about leave...I was at like 50 hours. But it was some bike show in Vegas and all these drunk bikers just kept losing so much money. I couldn't leave such a juicy game. It is crazy when you stand up at the end of the session and can't walk. I cabbed 2 blocks back to my apartment...it was sick.
  • about... 4.5 hours online, it was sick. My eyes were blurring up, i was seeing cards that I didn't have. No joke, thats about my longest session, but I'm lookin forward to start spending some long days in the casino comin up soon (now that i'm legal age:) ). Any tips for a rookie on stayin alert for a long day at the tables?

coffee, red bull, pay attention to hands you're not in (good advice regardless but it will help your mind from drifting away, never to return), stand up and stretch, spend 20 seconds doing big long inhales and exhales of air, flex your leg muscles rapidly for a minute under the table.

I've had dumps that take longer than that. Come on, man up!
  • I sat down Friday morning at Rama (about 8 am) and left sunday afternoon sometime (around noonish I'd guess). It was a slightly winning session. The last 6 hours I shouldn't have played because my large winning session went into the tank.

  • i did 36hrs once but it wasn't the same table. it started at 11am online, then i played till 9pm that day and went to a cash game till 6am, then we went to the casino and were sitting by 7am and then played there at that table till 3am so in total it was about 39h prolly like 36h of table time. i've done lots of 18h sessions on other occasions aswell.

no offence but this is pathetic
  • lmao specialK
  • Last summer I stayed at Rama for a few months and the longest session's I played were 76 hours and the second longest was 54 hours both playing
    1/2 200 max NL and some 10/20 and 15/30 limit short-handed.
By the end of the 76 hour session I started to hear people talking to me that weren't really saying anything to me and got a really spaced out feeling kind of like being on mushrooms back in the day.
Certainly an experience i won't forget and the 20 hour sleep I took after that was so awesome.
  • only 10 or 11 hours I feel like such a pansy.
72 hours is sick man SICK
