I think I had to call

I knew I was beat but given what was invested I think I had to call.

  • hmmm third raise is at least kings and fourth raise is always aces? yep!

    you had odds to call the final raise anyway.

    when he smooth called then re-raised i'm not sure what kind of sign to take from that?
  • You were actually thinking of folding KK preflop?

    Had to call, no question in my mind.

    If this Professor is the same guy on Stars as on Paradise, I have him pegged as a very solid aggressive player.

    Yes I was actually thinking of folding KK preflop, then I looked at what I had left to put in and HAD to put in it. If my stack was a lot deeper I would have folded. I did type in the my KK was no good in the chat box.
  • You're correct. Your pot odds are $79.25 to $16.75 or 4.7:1. Since your KK will be at worst a ~4:1 underdog, you are better off calling.
    EV = 18.1% * (+$79.25) + 81.9% * (-$16.75)
    = +$0.63

  • Your only chance for escape is if Villian has an agression factor of 0 over like 200 hands.
  • LOL BBC, I didn't think I had any escape route unless I hit my set. Like I said if the stacks were deeper folding would have been an option. Given the stack sizes it was an easy call even tho I knew I was beat
  • Even if he showed you AA at the end when it's only $15 more to you, you can call for set value.
  • Yeah its almost never right to fold kk preflop. People will suprise you sometimes.
  • You're right. I've seen way to many people at that limit make that same play with AK suited or QQ or JJ so it's definite call for me.

    Agreed. Saw it at my table last night twice. Once was AK v. TT in a raising war for a $65 pot and the second time was AK v. QQ in a raising war for a $126 pot.

    Granted, it was the same person overplaying AK both times, winning the first flip and losing the second.
