My introduction

Hi All!

Long time listener, first time caller! :)

This is my first post to this forum, but I've been lurking here for a few months. Over that time, I've managed to meet a few of the regulars, including the esteemed Mr. Scharf at Rama one night in June. I hope I can make a contribution to this forum, and look forward to playing some poker with several of you, either on-line or in a B & M.

My latest poker incarnation has been about a year and a bit. Like a lot of people, including I'm sure, many of you currently, I began playing poker with friends back in high school, (too) many years ago. Of course, those were the ol' dealer's choice games, like Follow the Queen, Anaconda, Guts, etc. As usually happens, everyone drifted apart after high school and university. Just over a year ago, I "re-discovered" the game, mainly through WSOP re-runs on TSN.

I've been playing at B & M's ever since, almost exclusively at Brantford, although I have also played at Rama and Casino Nova Scotia. I usually play 5-10, but have been playing a bit more 10-20 of late. Over the year, I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, and keeping records, and I'm ahead. I guess that being ahead after a year, taking into account the horrible 5-10 rake, I'm doing ok.

Earlier this year, I started playing on-line. Signed up at UB, after seeing the ad on the Canadian Poker Player web site. Play mostly at UB, although I also have accounts at PokerStars, PartyPoker, FullTilt and Empire. Maybe I will start playing in the forum tourneys at PS. My username is macbb

I really enjoy reading this forum, and thank Dave and his team for all the fine work on Canadian Poker Player magazine, which I subscribe to.

I've met some great people at Brantford. I really like Brantford, for the people, supervisors and dealers, all whom are great. I play there usually once a week, so maybe I'll meet up with a few of you in the future (who knows, maybe I already have!).

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled discussions! :)
