Best Places to go in Vegas?

So my girlfriend and I are contemplating whether to go to Vegas this summer. If we do end up going, where are the best places to go to play poker, stay, etc.?

I've heard Excalibur is good, any other thoughts? :)

  • I stayed at Mandalay Bay for a night and it was wicked. A 33 year old MILF paid for it so it was even better.

Try downtown...sooo cheap and not bad.
Golden Nugget is alright as is Main Street Station.
  • I've stayed at the Mirage and Excalibur 3 years ago. Mirage was better but more expensive. besides they are putting the Excalibur down, not sure when though. Honestly, if your gonna go to Vegas with your girlfriend, you might as well get a nice hotel - 4stars and up....if you're going w friends or on a poker mission, 3 stars will do such as the Imperial palace. Regardless, you'll have a blast, there's so much to do such as walking on the street with your beer at hand and mexicans coming up to you handing out stripclub flyers!!!

  • As for Poker I really liked playing at the Mirage and MGM Grand. I found the games after midnite very profitable.

As for shows check out the Blue Man Group if you can. They are very entertaining.

As for food our favourite restaurant was Olives at the Bellagio.

    Have fun!
  • Forgot to mention, there's a million buffets there and very affordable except for the Bellagio....you'll both gain at least 30lbs.
  • From the reviews i've read the venetian has really upgraded their poker room, and its a really cool place to stay from what ive heard, im not sure about location though, and can almost guaruntee its one of the most expensive.
  • Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone know any place romantic for dinner I could take my girlfriend to? I really want to make this one special for her.
  • ohh no!!! Do i smell proposal?? Take her on a gondola ride at the venetian and there are a few nice cafe style restaurants in the shopping concourse with the gondola's passing by along side you. The flamingo has a great buffet for I think it was 20 buck. Fresh carved meat stations with servers, crab legs, veggies, etc.... I must say I enjoyed it, but not a romantic setting.

Lillies restuarant at the Golden Nugget is somewhat romantic, not to over the top though. Amazing food as well, they also have an amazing spa package there. I'd stay at the GN if I were you, your girl will love it!

    stp
  • Thanks for all the help everyone. I'll check everyone's suggestions out.

In the Mandalaybay you can try Aureole. It is an excellent restaurant. Call ahead and get Reservations for the Swan court.

Get the tasting menu and ask for a wine to be paired with each course.

Or you could always tell her you want to eat at the pink taco:

It is in the Hard Rock, not too romantic but the food is great plus I think it is 1/2 price appetizers and drinks 4pm -7pm Mon - Thurs.
