Opinions on this structure

I'm playing in four tournaments in Vegas at the end of the month:

  • This is very similar to Ceasers structure. I like the amount of play. They had 45 min rounds with 4k in chips.

I thought it was an excellent structure
  • For a 1K tourney it looks like a decent amount of play. It's definitely a little on the quick side, but compared to other 1K events I've played this is above average. The extra 1K chips and 15 minutes on levels makes it look quite good for the $2K event.
  • Thanks guys, I thought it was pretty good too. Not WSOP Main Event good, but hey, these aren't 10K tournaments...

This is their first major tournament series (it's a new casino) so it'll be interesting to see how the dealers and staff hold up.
  • I have NO clue why I'm singled out in this one, you're better off asking guys like beanie, Zithal, g2 when it comes to blind schedule. But from the looks of it, it seems like you're getting pretty good value and quite alot of play for the $500/$1k events.
  • LOL... I was reading your thoughts about BCC's structure and figured you were an expert. ;)
  • Structure doesn't really matter to Wes, as he is a push monkey. He either busts early or coasts to final table on a huge M.;)
  • Hard to go wrong with 45 minute levels.

From what I can see the first 5 increases are pretty expensive (i.e. cost per round goes up by >60%). After that it's a pretty good structure. IMO, you're going to need to double or triple up by the 4th level or so to keep your M above the red zone, but that's pretty normal.

  • Damn g2... that's a handy link! Thanks for doing that. I'm going to shrink it, print it out, laminate it, and refer to it during the events.
  • I believe I forgot to mention my consulting fee. One beer :D

When are you getting to Vegas? I'm there for the long weekend before these tourneys, Friday night til Monday the 19th at noon.

  • I'm arriving on the 26th and leaving on the 4th... too bad.

One beer seems reasonable but I guess you won't get it from me in Vegas!

Seems typical for most casino tournaments that have the buy-ins under $5K. Most seem to offer quite a big of wiggle room early on to make it appears as though its a great structure, but its really a steep increase until the first break (with the exception of the $1K-$2K buyin at the WSOP of course)

    Sounds about right.
  • All these tournaments have a Skill Level of 6, just like the excellent tournaments at Brantford Casino. To compare, Brantford's $500/1000/1500 tournaments had a Patience Factor of 12.3, while Wynn's U$500/1000 tournaments have a slightly better Patience Factor of 13.1.

  • Hey guys, 3 of us Rocks are heading to Vegas Feb 25th to March 1st, now we don't play the big $$$ tournies you guys do, fixed incomes and all that.. lol.. but if you want to meet for a howdy while there Devo... just holler.. Jeff..
  • I was planning on trying to qualify for the main event through satellites, and play in a few smaller tourneys as well. I leave on March 3rd though and I'm staying till the 12th. We should hook up for beers/coffee and compare notes.

  • Hey guys, sounds good. I'm leaving on the 26th and returning on the 4th. I'll PM you.
  • Change of plans for me...looks like I'll be flying in on the 26th and leaving on the 4th or 5th, so a meet up might work out better now. I'll text ya once I get settled and we can figure something out. I'll be at the Wynn at some point as well.
  • I have played this structure at the wynn and it is great.,

Hey preroller, 3 of us from Milton arriving on the 25th staying until the 2nd. I at least am planning on playing a few smaller tournies and maybe some satellites for ones at the Venetian and Wynn as well.... Let me know if you want to hook up. We're staying at the Excalibur... Have you played any Bristols or Westside tournaments from here? Jeff..

I'm staying in a condo with 2 girls from UNLV right behind the Flamingo. I was planning on doing the same as you...small buy in tourneys, and some sats for Wynn, so for sure I'd be interested. I have played in 2-3 Bristols and used to play every week at Heuther when Westside played there...I have moved since then, so it's tougher to make it to K/W with no car. I will PM you my cell.

    Dave
  • I have a question....can you buy into tourneys with your credit or debit card, or do you need cash? (in Vegas) 3 more sleeps bitches!
  • Just saw this now. Good luck D, I am sure you will have a great time.
