Brag?: Moving to Vegas permanently.
So. I have an opportunity to take a new job that requires me to travel around the states but call any US city home. I'm currently thinking that Vegas is the place for me. Affordable housing, large hub city.. and of course easy access to casino gambling.
So.. what does this bunch of poker playing Canadians think? Are there better cities that you'd choose? Got any tips Haddon?

same gambling, still close to Vegas, better weather
way more affordable housing, less crime
What do you take in your coffee?
Maybe Arizona like moose said or Dallas (which I have heard is very nice),Vegas can still be kind of cold in the winter.
What industry are you in BBC?
Sure, what are your measurements?
IT Consulting.. I've been insanely bored at my job for the last few months, so it's time to do something life-changing.. Of course, it also helps that the new job is a massive pay increase from what I currently make..
My primary reason for choosing Vegas is that I'll be 100% on the road M-F, so S/S can be viewed as a mini-vacation. I hear that housing prices are looking good again after the massive run they've made in the last few years.
Any place I choose, I'd have to live somewhat close to the airport. I'd hate to have to drive 1hr back and forth for a house/apt I won't be in too often.. I also know that Vegas has a great short-term lease industry, so if it really does suck, I've got some outs..
I appreciate the suggestions though, keep 'em comin.

Only if you're dead already! Can't see the IRS not considering Florida as a prime revenue haven.

Your idea of short term rentals in vegas might be good to see if you like it and can handle the 48 hours of poker during your mini vacation.
GL and congrats on the promotion/new job.
My top picks would be (in no order)
San Diego, CA (pretty much anywhere in CA)
Phoenix, AZ
Houston, TX
Las Vegas, NV
