An open invitation... movie marathon!

Hey all

So, I'd like to host a movie Marathon at my place next Sunday (since I'll have the place to m'self).. I"m thinking three movies for a total of 6-7 hours, starting at noon. I'm adding a poll to see what people'd like to watch, and want as much feedback as possible.

So, the details...

When: Sunday, January 28th, 2007
Time: Noon - ??
Place: Mark's in Guelph (PM for specifics)
Attire: I suggest something comfy since it'll be a lot of movies.
Other: BYOB / BYOS&F (Bring your own snacks and food)

So, let me know if you're interested, and what movies would make a fine Sunday viewing.

Oh! One more thing....

We'll be watching it on my sister's new 55" Sony HDTV with 5.1 surround sound - there are some perks to living at home! : ) Let's BREAK THIS SUCKER IN!!

  • You're missing Rocky and the Godfather in the poll.
  • I'm surpised Lord of the Rings isn't there or Aliens.
  • Or the chuckie movies....... or my all time favourite b flick.... Canabal women in the avacodo jungle of death maybe matched up with Hardbodies and Cheerleader camp or Killer Klowns from Outer space......

These could all go under "horror flicks"....

RE: Lord of the Rings / Godfather: WAY too long.. :(

Rocky's not a bad idea though... just the good ones though

  • Ummm.. anyone know how to edit the poll?

That won't take very long then.

    Matrix I, II, III?
  • Sounds like a blast, but sadly it's not Feb 5th yet (this is the day I'm once again free to run around, frolic in the grass, and host no-limit hold'em tournaments.)

    However:
Some time in the future, let's do a 12 hour Rings marathon. The set-up you've got would be brilliant for the Extended Trilogy!!
  • We'll have to see about the LOTR...

To be honest, I liked them, but didn't love them... though the sheer technical capabilities would make it exciting!

Now, I was ALSO pondering a star wars marathon... all 6 movies baby! :)

I don't know if you can on the new forum. I posted under Site Feedback about that, but I don't think anything happened.

The chucky movies could go under horror..... but believe me there is nothing scary about shannon tweed or adrienne barbeau (sp?) in Canabal women.....
  • you guys need to broaden your horizons
Has "Milo and Otis" even been given consideration????
Also, I DO NOT SNORE during every movie!

Milton (packin' it on before the challenge) Slim
  • I like the SW Marathon idea, but ALL six? Eek. That's way too much Hayden Christensen for me.

When I was in High School, my buddeis and I did all 3 Orginal SW and all 3 IJ in one night/day, so a LOTR marathon isn't that far fetched.
  • This is the day after my ME, so not sure if I'll be able to get out.

However, if I could, I'd vote for a Tarantino marathon - Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and maybe the Kill Bill's...

Not far fetched at all. I watched all 3 back-to-back at the theatre - long day but worth it ;)

    Now there's and idea!
  • Pffft... can't handle the 6 star wars flicks?

I was thinking of REALLY goin hardcore and finding the Holiday special as well! :)

The Tarantino is possible, but I hate Tarantino, and I have Veto powers. ALso, nobody's actually confirmed they'd be in?

  • I voted for reserved for imput.

    The Notebook, Serendipity, High Fidelity.

    DONE and DUSTED.

I'm there if those three fly. ;)

  • Voted for input as well..and Mark if you believe in democracy it's gonna be a night of chick flicks.

Haddon and I have purchased matching "We heart the Notebook" spaghetti strap tank tops that we are bedazzling for this occassion.

And we've got a sidebet on who gets to snuggle with Mark longest. Josh has given me 4-to-1 that he gets to third base. ;)

If he wins that bet I"m out...... That is just WRONG.

Of course there's always some mindless fun..... Rocky Horror Picture show, Rock and Roll Highschool and maybe Fast Times at Ridgemount High.

I KNEW it was a sure thing, must be my poker gut. I should have given her 100-1.
  • Well..

We could make it interesting and see who get's where first! :)

God this has taken an ugly turn.

  • Well...

After discussing with various persons, and getting basically ignoring 90% of the feedback, I'm gonna make it a XXX marathon of movies! Who's in?

    Wait... let me clarify...

    Not porn, X-Men, X-men 2, and X-men 3....

    perverts.

    Who's in?

    mark
  • I am in - so long as none of those are based on Comic books or something like that....

    Hey - how about...

Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Boiler Room, Usual Suspects
  • Ah, c'mon. X-Men? Seriously?

    Sorry dude, I'm out.

    Johnnie
  • oops sorry..I thought the x-men trilogy would be a great idea.

My fault guys, I won't be a bad influence on Mark anymore.
