  • I have never seen a beat like that...wow.
  • Yeah it was brutal.

Luckily he was a donk and I won all of it back before he left the table. I got up to $450 and then left, I sat down with $50 at the table, not too bad I guess.

    haha, be nice Haddon.

If BBC had said it, he'd have been flayed seven hours ago.
  • Well, Toni was so entrenched in his bad beat world that he took haddon's comment as if it was genuine. That has to count for something.

Josh is not real! He is a figment of our collective forum imagination
  • I really hate, when you caught people bluffing with pants down, and they make their hand on the river.
today, i been suckout like crazy at fulltilt
    AQ vs KJ
i raise 3.5 time, he call
    flop Q 10 2
i bet the pot, he move all in, i call.
    turn 9 river 8
    another one
    i have 99 vs AQ
    preflop has been raise
flop 278 i bet the pot he call
    turn 3
i bet the pot he move allin and i call.
    river Q
    another one
    AA vs 23 suited D
I raise preflop 3.5x, he call
    flop 7S 9C AD.
i bet the pot, he move all in, and i call.
    turn 10D
    River 5 D
    WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
then i got to cash game, then win about 100 dollar in 30 minutes, because those fishes didn't get lucky to outdraw me.
so it's ok, but still suck when it happen to you alot.
  • Reminds me of the time at the BCC.

    I have KT

    flop comes QTQ

everyone checks, turn card is Q

BB bets, I raise, everyone folds

    BB calls

    river card J

he checks, I check (just in case he did have the Q or J)

    He turns over J5!!!!!!

He called the turn with Jack high?!?! ....he told me "You're lucky I didn't check raise you on the river"....I told him, "that's cuz' I checked the river too MORON"

I figured it was sarcasm, but decided to play it off as it wasn't.

Now I look like an idiot.

Please close this thread to save me from further humilition, thank you.
  • Sorry. Most forumers don't want to read about complaints about bad beats. We've been through them all. We all should have been nicer rather than laugh at our internal jokes at your expense. You are just learning and reading your other thread I think you should be careful about the limits you are playing at. Welcome and have fun at the forum!

He seemed fairly loose, so I REALLY wanted to put the presure on him when I thought I had the best hand. I was almost positive before and after the flop that I did... I was more worried about the flush on the turn than anything else but felt that he would have bet had he made it. I was right, but it didn't matter. :P
  • Does any one read Bluff magazine?

They have a story about the worse beat in the history of poker, and unlike most bad beats where one play catches a one out, this one involves a player drawing dead but then suddenly wins on the river.

If any one is interested it is posted below, TJ Cloutier is telling the story hilight to see:

Worst beat ever: I was playing in a live game years ago at the Bicycle club with Al Krux. He’s a good player, but he was running bad that day. He had something like $490, and he moved all in. The guy two seats to his left was getting a massage. He held up his hand showed it to the masseuse and mucked it. It got around to me on the button with two tens and I called. The dealer made a mistake; he didn’t see I’d called and he dropped the deck on the muck, so they had to reshuffle it all. When they reshuffled, the flop came K-10-4. Al had two kings in the hole, and the turn came another ten – so I made four tens to beat him. But that’s not the kicker. The kicker was that the guy that had held his hand up to the masseuse had had the other two tens. That’s the worst beat in history. You can’t get a worse beat than that.

    No you didn't...

KQo from UTG with just a flat call is a horrible play.. .if you thought he was loose, bet / raise pre-flop, a check raise may slow him down, but if I was playing that hand in that position, I'm comin in for a raise.

I'm sorry, what? I have no idea what kind of advice you're trying to give me here.
  • Basically I disagree with the way you played the hand...

Whoa.. okay... my monkey mind just kicked in.. umm.. good raise, I should read more carefully...

Umm... well, not much I'm gonna say here... he's a donkey, and got rewarded... sucks.

  • Well Toni at least u got justice and showed that donk who really has the edge, I wish that happened all the time, but in cash games those r the ppl who usually put their tail between their legs and scurry away.
  • Never fault the aggressor.

Raise all-in with A6 and beat AA - thats just poker.

Call all-in holding A6 - that is donkish and a bad beat.
