does anyone know that if u hold a home game and dont rake or charge the players .is it still classed as illegal gambling?.im new to canada came from the uk were it is not illegal to hold home games or even games in the pubs as long as there is no rake or charge to the players. for a seat at the table and that all the buy in money goes bck to the players as prize money.if it illegal what is the likely hood of u getting busted.

    If there is no rake, it is legal. That being said, holding it at a pub is still a rake as the pub benifits from the game.... drinking.

    Police do not bother ususaly with this. If a pub has a liquor licence issue or trouble in the past with other things, they can have their licence revoked.


    There are tons of pub games in the Toronto area.

    thnks dead money was just woundering how it works over here. didnt want to hold home games and get in ti trouble but for the pub games na id sooner go to the casinos and win some reall money lol:)
