background on Player A
supreme callingstation, but recently really improve his games, but still a callingstation.
Blind 1000/2000
I am big blind with 26 off suite
player A just compete the blind. and i check
flop A 8 3 rainbow
play A check as usual when he miss the flop.
I bet 5000,he call, i think he may has bottom or middle pair.
Turn 2.
Play A check, since callingstation would call to the end if he caught a peice of the flop. and pair 8 or pair 3 are better then my pair 2 with 6 as kicker. so I check too.
River 6
Hahahaha, that is why callingstation can only complaint, he give me a chance to win this
Play A Check.
I bet another 5000
Player A push all-in
now, I am in trouble......
callingstation does not do a all-in bluff, so i have to give him credit for a big hand. but what hand can i put him on.....
I know he doesn't have A-x card, he would of bet after the flop.
i know he doesn't have 83, since he only play two face card or A-x, I can't seem him complete the blind with 83.
I know he does not play anything with 2, unless is A-2. but i am sure he does not hold Ace.
I can't seem him play 82/86/
big packet pair.... he maybe afraid of A on the flop, choose to check-call after the flop, and check on the turn. but figure i don't have A, so checkraise me on the river.
What would you put player A on, and would you call his all-in.

figure a flop of A38....novice player says "gut card".....so the 5000 call is peanuts....then the classic check when the 2 hits (another amateur play...I always like watching the check on the turn after someone fills their straight or flush.....like I am going to do the betting for them)..now the 6 on the river doesn't scare him but because he has a monster he doesn't know how to extract value from your 5000 raise...or he can be playing on the notion that if he just re-raises you won't call..so the all in bluff comes into play....making like he is buying the pot....
Figure there was 4000 in preflop, 10000 on the flop and then another 5000 on the river....dependant on stacks....its a correct play...IMO
i didn't even notice there is straight possibility here, but since i know he only play two face card and A-X so i didn't even bother with that.
I did call his all-in with my two pair
AGAIN, my brain say fold, and i push all-in.........
he has packet 6, the last card made the set.
anyhow, you were correct, he did have a monster. and i was stupid enough to call this bet.
This is a mistake if he's a calling station.
You have 6 high, this is the quintessential "Small hand, small pot" situation.. you have the smallest hand, you should NOT be swelling the pot, and given your read, he's not folding. Bet was a bad idea.

If you are playing a calling station don't bluff and don't make big bets with a crappy hand. Why????? They'll call you down!!!
