  • Interesting if this is true. It seems odd that they would disallow a company from buying seats. Does that mean they should look into how anyone has the funds to buy seats and if they money is obtained illegally?

    Stupid American policies.
  • There are many ways the online sites can get around this.
Unless Harrah's prevents the selling of your seat to a 3rd party, then it's as simple as setting up a dummy corporation to buy the seats and then sell them to the online winners.
  • they can straight up transfer the money to your account and to you directly. No biggie.

what they look like doing is taking no 3rd party registrations, that is what Bellagio are doing this week for the 5 Diamonds, so unless you register yourself u're not getting in.

Be interesting to see what drop in numbers this causes, WSOP has 50% online entrants, I imagine WPT gets the same. Bound to be some guys who take the money and run, especially those who've satellited in for free or very lttle.

Anyone have the entry figure for last years 5 diamonds, be the first chance to gauge what next years WSOP field might look like?
  • If no online can satellite why don't they make the $50,000 HORSE the main event then? It shows true poker versatility which really is what being crowned the WSOP main event winner really means. that's what the WSOP was from the start, to see who was the the best player in the world, not who is the one and million guy this year.
  • Looks as though on cardplayer they have announced several sites will be doing WSOP satellites. Pokerstars is the only one so far not to have announced their options.
  • All this means is that if you win a seat on say pokerstars they will credit your account the 10000 buy in + whatever extra for expenses they give(2000 usually) and you will have to buy in yourself... Nothing complicated...
  • i could see some idiot playing with that money transferred and then being not able to buy-in?
  • I highly doubt this is even going to happen. Even if it did and the ended up transfering 10k to the qualifiers plus some extras spending then most of those players would probably just take the 10k plus some instead of taking the 1 in a million shot.
  • I agree, unless they send you the actual seat voucher. Are they transferable?

  • I think it's a stupid move to not have online satelite seats won. More and more people are qualifying from online tournies I think it's good to have them.
  • Its not that there won't be online sats...Its that the sats will pay cash prizes so that you can just register yourself...
