Know-It-Alls

It simply amazes me to hear other people criticize and tell other players "Why didn't you....?", "Book says.....?", "You should of....". What the heck is wrong with they guys (well sometimes women but I haven't experienced this too much, lol) giving away their own thoughts and strategy so that everybody else at the table will know exactly how they think and what they will do in future plays. Many of my wins have been because of unpredictability and changing up constantly. I truly believe that even in tournament play if you can limp a lousy hand through to the river and flip over something ridiculous so that the table can THINK you are a moron you can and will make some big money later on with your Category 1 and 2 pockets. I myself, don't scare or look up to Type A know-it-all personalities. Anybody else have any thoughts on this. My favorite response to these players is to smile and say "Why would you do that.....? It usually shuts them up or if they continue to explain themselves, BOOM....you know exactly what they would do the next time that situation happens.

If you are being permitted to limp, than I agree, and when you out flop a player with a big pair it is their fault - don't listen when they bitch.

If you are calling big bets with garbage, I am having a home game on Thursday night - you are invited.
  • Just one Moron-play, at the beginning of the tourney when the blinds are small, usually will carry you through to wins until they start replacing seats when players get eliminated!
  • I'm big on consoling the bad play, I'll even jump in the online fight and defend the person most incorrect. I enjoy telling the 'coach/whiner' to eff himself, and maintaining the fun for the lesser opponent -i believe it is also +ev to have him happy(the weaker of the two) and keeps me entertained.

I love talking like a fish with the fish at a table. At Brantford the other night I was 'agreeing' with one dude about how when you have top pair shitty kicker you should call the turn and river... just because you never know, they might be on a draw... hahaha... I think most of my profit that night came from that guy.

  • Or... (and Haddon should like this one)

"Well, I flopped a gutshot straight flush draw... I HAD to call" (donkey)

"That's true.. I think it's in the rulebook somewhere" (Good looking dealer)

  • Some play to coach!
    Some play to learn!
