AVI copy of the ESPN Turning Stone Live Event

Ok group.

Some time this week I will be getting a videotape copy of the The American Poker Championship at Turning Stone Poker event which was shown on Live on ESPN.

I have been searching for it via torrents but have not found it. So once I get my VHS copy I will be attempting to digitize it into a Digital AVI Xvid copy.

So warm up your torrent software because once it is done I will be posting it (privately for pokerforum.ca members at first aren't you all lucky) for all those who are interest in downloading it.

However since my connection speed up is limited I am looking for people to help me seed this unique poker program. Anyone out there have a good upload connection and is willing to help me seed this once it is done. PM me and I can arrange for said seeder(s) to download it via ftp first to assist in the seeding of it.

With illegal directv still down i missed Ivey take out John "the kid".
I am very interested in seeing this but dont know about the computer stuff you need help with.
This was shown on Fox Sports Net though not ESPN, in case it matters.

Hello Members. Sorry for my 2 week absence, I just finished the move from HELL!

Anyhow I do have a copy of the TurningStone event. It is in AVI xvid for and just over a gig in size. I will be posting a torrent of it this week (hopefully by friday).

Just a note: About 10-15 minutes is missing due to a vcr mishap, (my wife recorded over a piece of the tape). It happens right when they get down to 2 players. Sorry about this.

Some members who have good connection offered to help me seed it. PM me if you can assist in the seeding and have a good connection.

Torrents are just another way of downloading stuff off the net, another file distribution protocal. You cannot play a .torrent file like an AVI file.

A torrent is basically a way of taking a large file and dividing it into many little pieces. These pieces are then doled out/collected via a bittorrent program (I use Azureus, a java based BT Client). Once you have all the pieces of the file (aka the bits) you have a complete file (aka the torrent). The nice thing about torrents is that you can down load a piece of the file from one person, while downloading a completely different piece from someone else. Also once you have the piece, someone can then download it from you. It is a way of spreading the download across several different machine while congesting no-one machine with a hundred requests.

Here's how I got the WSOP videos for this year. Let me know if it worked for you guys too:

-First, download the free program "Torrent Storm" at www.torrentstorm.com
-Open and install the program
-Then go to http://tracker1.alienchick.com/
-Under search, type in "world series of poker"
-Download the bit torrent files of the episodes you want (this file will be very small, about 50K)
-Open the torrent file and it should show up on the Torrent Storm program (if not, right click and "open with" Torrent Storm)
-Right click the file in Torrent Storm and select "Start Transfer"
-It may not begin downloading immediately, but it will eventually

Please do not post this torrent to any of the big sites. My bandwidth cannot handle it. Once it is out to say a dozen or so people I might consider posting it at large but until then, lets keep it in house.

Works for me, although at 1k/sec. its going to take a while.

Edit: going much faster now.. approaching 40k and rising.. so its looking good.

Got dsl, so if I get it all, I can seed it for awhile.

Sorry, I just figured it out. Because I don't have a static IP address, it resets and renews (via my DSL Modem) every 24 hours or so. I have to rebuild the torrent and share (takes about 15 min or so).

I am looking at setting up a premiment link via DynDNS but I have to figure out the tracker aspect of it so until that happens here is the new address (I will update later with a dynDNS link).

I tried to download today and it was coming down really slow. Can you burn it on to some media, and then I can meet you and help you seed. I have a 3mb line and my upload is nearly .5MB so it will greatly increase the speed. PM me if you are interested.

Well we are now up to 4 seeders and 5 people down loading after 2 day. I saw a few people just download and quit (did not seed).

If you do manage to download a complete copy I do ask that if possible you seed for at least 24 hours or until you have uploaded the same amount you downloaded.

Remember more seeders mean faster downloads for those people who have not gotten it yet.

It is saved as a video clip not an mpeg.

What do I need to do to play this?
