Heh thanks guys! I actually took a break from crushing poker after the WSOP to spend some time getting killed at poker. This tournament looks awesome though and there was no way I was missing out on it. I'm glad I was able to win my seat early so I can plan my Christmas vacation accordingly. I've also final tabled 3 of the $175 double shootouts but had little go right in the 2nd rounds. So hopefully things are turning back around for me. I wrote a few things about the tournament on my blog but I don't think i'll have any time to write a full report like for my WSOP satellite. That hand against you was a pretty key pot for me Kev, I wasn't sure how wide a range you'd push there (I'd push any 2 though also) but with decent pot odds and what could easily be the best hand folding seemed pretty bad. Anyways, Steve was disappointed when I informed he won't be repeating as PCA shampion this year but at least it will be two years in a row for UW.
Good luck SirWatts, and keep in mind that if you make the final table, it will NOT be two years in a row for UW.
It will be THREE years in a row. Nenad Medic (former UW varsity B-ball player) was at the final table in 2005, went out 6th.
(I know you were talking about two years for the WIN But I had to throw that in)
Ah I didn't realize that was one of the tournaments he final tabled. I bumped into him at the Bellagio during the WSOP. He plays some nosebleed stakes....
hey, I went to U of W, why can't I get a break? all kidding aside, great job guys and even if the poker doesn't pan out, at least you will have a wicked time away from the cold weather.
I know the guy who won the WPT PokerStars Carribbean Adventure U$12,000 first prize on the weekend. The funny thing is that he and my friend had just come back the day before from the "WPT Boot Camp Caribbean Conference BATTLE FOR THE SEASON PASS", and now they get to go to the Bahamas again for free!
They both outlasted virtually all of the professionals at the WPT U$158,000 Season Pass tournament, including Gavin Smith, Antonio Esfandiari, Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Kathy Liebert and Clonie Gowen. Unfortunately, only the top six won prizes and the prize pool was not increased despite having twice as many players as expected.
Congratulations to all the Canadian PCA winners! :wav:

As far as winning his PCA pack, I can assure you it wasn't a question of if, but when.
Congrats on your win Mike, I hope my chips were the difference
One day my 35o hand will win me something real.
Sure hope I see you in Bahamas.
Kev
Can't wait to hear all about it at Bristol tonight!
