  • I like it.

    Preflop: Standard.

    Flop: Standard.

Turn: The donk from the flop leader is odd. It could be a weak ace trying to protect against draws, but the hand I'd most likely figure would be a weak two pair. I like that flat call with your gutshot and 2 pair outs.

River: Wow! We make the high end of the straight and it's bet and raised in front of us. We only have to fear KQ for the nuts. I think we need some info on how loose/aggro our opponents are here. With a 4 card straight out there, I'd think it's highly likely that the raiser has a Q. So we aren't really getting any value from him if that's the case. 3 betting is apt to shut out the original bettor unless you have a read that he's a very loose caller on the river (is he going to cold call 2 bets here with 2 pair or a 7 with the potential of it being capped).

IMO, the only way you can really justify raising the river is if your opponents are horrendously aggro and make very loose river calls/raises. I'd probably go for an overcall in this spot.

As it turned out, I think you picked up some info that your opponents ARE in fact terrible, so 3 betting may have netted the same result...

    NH.
  • terrible they were... went from my $80 buy in ---> $300 in about 1/2 hour
