WPT Fallsview Canadian Poker Open

If this event will be 3 days with 1 televised final table.

1) Does anyone know how long each day will take considering you make all the way to the final televised table?

2) With 300 players...How many get paid and what are the payouts?

3) Are there any breaks between levels?

4) Does the above apply to the NAPC?

  • Hopefully, 13CARDS will have some answers, but I'll take a few guesses. With 300 players and assuming that 3% will be taken out for dealer gratuities, the total prize pool will be $727,500 (300 * $2500 * 97%). I would think that the top 10% or approximately 30 players will get paid, with first prize around $200K.

With 3 million chips in play, it will take approximately 25 blind levels to get down to the televised final table of six. My guess is that each of the first three days will be at least 8 hours long, with play continuing until there are a certain number of players left, e.g.,
    Day 1 - 100?
    Day 2 - 35?
    Day 3 - play down to 6?

I have another question. Will the Avalon Ballroom balcony seats be accessible to people under 19 years of age, on a first-come first-served basis?

So far, I have met six other people that will also be playing at the WPT CPO. PM me if you are interested in taking a ~5% stake in each other.
  • Most of what BINGO said is correct (or close enough). The buy-in is $2,700 not $2,500.

There will be breaks after each level.

Essentially the same for the Canadian Open and the NAPC.

For all events in the Ballroom patrons must be 19 or older. Only the final table of each event will be held in the Ballroom...the rest of the tournament will be held in the Grand Hall.

Since Fallsview charges a fee/rake of $200, I assumed that only $2,500 would be part of the prize pool so that is why I used that figure instead of $2,700.
There will be breaks after each level.
For the CPO, will it be a 5-minute break every hour?
the rest of the tournament will be held in the Grand Hall.
Is the Grand Hall the same location where the Degree Poker tournament was held?
Thanks to 13CARDS for all the information.
  • While on the topic, what is the rule requirement regarding railbirding. Are tickets first come first served or can they be bought in advance? How close to the action can we get?
  • Does any one know what time will the registration start for the CPO? I already won a voucher for the main event but I would like to know if I can register a day early so that I can get my seat assignment and fill out any documents that they need.

    Thanks.
  • My voucher states that registration begins at 7 AM at the Avalon Ballroom for the WPT CPO. A friend who is playing at the $10,300 NAPC said that his voucher states that registration does not begin until October 25.

  • Does anyone think there will be any famous pros playing in the Canadian Poker Open? and do you get a WPT championship seat at Bellagio if you win the CPO?

and do you get a WPT championship seat at Bellagio if you win the CPO?

NO, but you do get a beautiful trophy and all of that cash. You do get a Belagio seat from the NAPC.[/QUOTE]
  • Thanks 13Cards,

Do you know the payouts for the final 6?
  • Since it is already known that the prize pool is $750,000 for the sold-out WPT CPO, they should make available the payout structure. For example, if one just survives the bubble, will the prize be close to the $2,700 buy-in or will it be at least double?

  • There are two dates I found for the final table for the CPO. October 28 and October 30. Which is the accurate date?
  • final table for the CPO is the 30th.
  • Good luck to everyone playing in the CPO tomorrow. Hopefully some forum members will make it into the money, and maybe even the final table. Defend those blinds!
