NBC did confirm Wednesday that it has greenlighted a new overnight entry, "Poker After Dark," that will air every night except Sunday at 2:05 a.m. "Dark" is a one-hour poker competition series in which six professional card sharks play in the back rooms of Las Vegas casinos for a $120,000 prize.
"There's a vibrant late-night audience looking for original programming," said Marc Graboff, president of NBC Universal Television, West Coast. "We felt this inside look at the professional poker scene is perfect for late-night television and those viewers seeking an unique and original broadcast."
The Saturday night edition, which will air at 1 a.m. ET following "Saturday Night Live," is a recap of the week's competition featuring commentary from the winner. "Dark" is hosted by Shana Hiatt, former host of "World Poker Tour."
