Table of odds?

Hey all,

I'm looking for a tables of odds to help some of my decision making. I'd like to see a table that, after you determine your outs after the flops, give the percentage that you'd hit it on either the turn or the river.

For example, let's say after the flop I figure I have six outs "twice". What are the odds of hitting it? (I'm also looking to see how many outs I need after the flop to make me a 50% favorite)

thanks for the help!

  • Many poker books have this sort of table. I know for certain such a table is in "Hold'em Poker" (not HPFAP... it's the "prequel" to that one) by Sklansky, but I'm sure I've seen it in several other places too. It's quite likely that there's table like this online too, but I'm not sure where off the top of my head.

    Another valuable tool is

You can essentially use this to get the kind of numbers you want by giving yourself a 6 out draw (or whatever) and your opponent some kind of made hand like one pair. This can also show you a little bit beyond just outs, since you'll see that (what appears to be) a 9 out flush draw is different if your opponent has one pair, two pair, trips, unsuited Ace of the drawing suit, etc.

  • Here's my table via my calculations:

The percentage is the number of times out of 100 you'll catch your cards. The Odds is the required pot size vs. a $1 bet to make the call profitable. Obviously for a $5 bet, multiply the odds by 5 to get your needed pot odds.

  • I use the quick rule of 4/2

With 2 cards to come multiply your outs buy 4

with 1 card to come multiply you outs buy 2

It is not 100% accurate but it gets you close

in your example with 6 out and 2 cards to come 6x4 = 24%

    with 1 card to come 6x2 = 12%

its fast and dirty, and works to a point. After about 14 outs it fall apart, reports higher than the actual percentage.
