wtf is up with stars?

i haven't played online in a while so i decided to deposit some cash today. i have a separate bank account that i use just for poker and i've used it to deposit on stars a few times. tried it today (twice) and usually it adds cash immediately but this time it didn't. i've been sitting here refreshing the cashier page but nothing happening.

i decided to go to pokerstars.com and try to talk to someone but the site won't load. won't load on my pc, my laptop, or my cell.

wtf is going on? do i have some virus or hacker fucking with me?

can't even get the contact support website to open from in the pokerstars software!?

nothing in account history is coming up. called my bank and they say there were no transfers or anything made (yet). no screen came up saying anything about a pending deposit or anything like that. fuck it. they don't want me to deposit i guess. fuck stars. i have no patience today...

btw, also can't download the pokerstars app on my android phone. contacted pokerstars about that in the past and they gave me a link to "wetransfer" where i have to download some other app first. seemed a little sketchy so i didn't do it. no fucking clue why i can't access anything pokerstars related content on any of my shit (which is four different devices - pc, laptop, tablet, and cell).

just turned hola on to switch VPNs and i can now access pokerstars.com. does that mean i'm blocked for some reason??

i can access software and still play normally but just can't access website??

pokerstars emailed me asking who my service provider is so they can figure out why i'm being blocked. called my service provider and they said they aren't blocking any webpages even though they are poker/gambling related. no fucking clue what the issue is...

i'm pretty sure the blocking of the website is the issue as i can't receive the popup window to finish my deposit.

I don't have an answer for you, but the mere mention of using VPN makes me think your problem is related to that.

From the sounds of it, your PC laptop and cell are all on the same wifi network? Try turning off wifi on your phone and access stars from your data plan - I bet it works no problem. Not that that is the solution, but you will have narrowed it down to your router/internet connection.

Bfill's suggestion is along the right track. Most likely it is to do with either your router or ISP. Is their a friend/neigbour nearby that you can take your laptop to to see if any difference? Perhaps a Timmies or McD's?

I assume he has his VPN client (Hola) set to something other than a USA IP... If he tries to access Stars using a US IP he risks getting IP banned.

Trigs, did setting your IP to something other than your own change anything, ie accessing pokerstars.com or running the Stars client?

i have a VPN (hola) that i use for netflix. i do not use it for pokerstars. the only reason i tried it this time is because i wanted to see if i could access the site from a different IP address. i connected hola to another canadian IP and i was able to access the pokerstars website. i guess that means that my IP is blocked or something. my provider said that it's not them at all.

i have been able to access pokerstars software the whole time. i can still play and everything. however, i can't deposit money for some reason. i'm assuming that this is connected to not being able to access the website but i really don't know anything for sure.

i've restarted modem and router. i've cleared all cache/cookies/etc. i'll try at work tomorrow on my tablet to see if it works.

i have received an email from pokerstars and they say that they are looking into it but at the moment they seem to have no idea what it is or how long it will take to fix.

Well doesn't really matter that your pc is not using wifi, it is still using the same router I assume. I would still try your laptop at a different location.

Also can you ping pokerstars.com by both dns name and IP address?

Go to a command prompt and enter "ping www.pokerstars.com" then "ping 77.87.181.63".

You should get 4 responses like "Reply from 77.87.181.63: bytes=32 time=226ms TTL=48" to both pings.

One other thing, did you try at least 2 browsers, ie Internet Explorer and Chrome?
