Positives - Very loose/weak games

Negatives - Pretty much no reward system or rake back
- Chat bans are handed out way to lightly( I got a 1 month ban for typing "this game is fcking crazy" and "fck ya!"

I have my fingers crossed that playnow will create a better rake back system, because if they did the site would take off.

I wasn't aware of the chat bans, but in truth, I don't really see a need for profanity on any site.

You're so right about the lack of a reward system. The site really lacks excitement or sophistication and there is no indication that the company has any commitment to growing and improving.

Thanks for reminding me about Playnow. I haven't played there for a while now. I still have a bunch of money on deposit so I'll have to either give them another try or withdraw it soon.

Very disappointing software upgrade today. Guaranteed to lower traffic.

It is no longer possible to queue for multiple tables and consequently will take a long time to get 4 or 5 tables going.

It's only Quebec, BC and Manitoba for now because the other provinces are too slow in joining. Maybe even Alberta will beat Ontario in getting their poker site going, but the government network probably won't be good enough to compete with PokerStars, FTP, 888, etc.

LOL, the 100K guarantee today got cancelled due to "technical issues". Had a friend registered for it. More like didn't meet the guarantee?

This site has only 2-3 good tournaments and they are cancelled if the site doesn't get the amount of money back from entrants. I have lost all respect for this site, and if anyone else decides to play on it, be ready to get tournaments cancelled with no notice. the Guarantees are just a scam, they aren't Guarantees more like If we don't get 100k then we cancel tournament.

I can't stand PlayNow's poker site. Layout is crappy, tournies get cancelled all the time, very poor rewards system compared to others. On top of that, the percentage of the losing hand sucking out on the turn and river is redonkulous.

Most of the posts in this thread are from a couple of years ago. Has anyone's opinion changed? It sounds like the only benefit is the relative safety of the deposits and winnings compared to the other (non-gov) sites. The disadvantages come from a wonky interface and technical issues -- or is that still the case?

Registered yesterday but haven't gotten around to trying a game yet.

Site is still soft, tournaments are OK when they run, I wish they had more deep stack guarantee's they have one nightly which is decent and their Sundays seem good for the volume. It's good that they have both a bad beat and micro bad beat jackpot. December freeroll giveaway tourney's were good not just cash but prizes as well. Still keep this in mind as long as there are no issues with the software and tech issues. Wish they had a better points for $ rakeback system. Still the biggest advantage is as you mention the safety of the deposits.
