I think the Bloc is going to get decimated in Quebec and Carney will have already won before the polls even close in Manitoba.
Scary to think it but you might be right. Same with the NDP being in rough shape. All going red instead, will be a factor for sure.
15% tax cut and balance the budget? Math being math I wonder how pp thinks. x-15%=positive
Pretty weak argument here IMO, I would have expected better from you as a geek. If we are going to make this about simple math, you need to do net result - not just the income side. Which just means spend less. That might sound like service cuts... but coming off the high cost low ROI policies of the past 10 years, theres easily enough fat on this pig that 15% could be cut with just the blatant waste alone. Not only that, but theres also the fact that one side believes that money printing is inconsequential, while the other will at least understand the need to attempt balance. Sign me up for the latter.
Reduce inflation? A 15% tax cut is by nature, inflationary.
Dont think I wrote that the 15% is tied to inflation. Sure the 15% cut is technically inflationary, but his approach to curbing inflation was all about not overspending and not continuing to print money for everything. And either way, he can still make our paycheques go further relative to the cost of living and make up that money elsewhere. Your statement reads as if taxing us more would be beneficial.. and then even the socialists in here might call you crazy 🙂
Of course pp could raise interest rates but how will that reduce housing costs.
He's been talking more about reducing red tape, permit times, and adding incentives, than interest rates... so I think he'll do OK on housing. And ill mostly agree with you though... big fear of mine is that some of this has already reached the point of being un-fuckable, making for a bad look for whoever gets in.
$500 energy bill? Grow lights must use a lot of power.
We're all on electric heat out here on the east coast.
But yeah man, they sure do. Cracked $800 once last year.
*Side note on that... how crazy is it with all new tech, green appliances, crazy insulation upgrades, LED lighting, etc... power bills only ever go up, never down. I even have the damn Climate Change Approved grow lights, dammit!
Carbon tax cut was forced by pp? I guess, in an ancillary way, since it is just vote buying.
No i really think it was him. You can pull videos of Liberals telling us it would be the end of the world if they removed it, and how great it was, and how it helped Canadians (using some moose math to show how)... But then like 2 days into an election call... bam.... steals Pierres biggest campaign talking point. And then bragged about being the ones to "cancel" their own policy. Also note that carbon tax is still baked into everything you buy - it was only really removed from the consumer end. (And only temporarily- I would bet on that too)
