i just discovered that a Rewards card from Great Canadian Gaming is required for on line registration
and a GG poker Rewards card required for in person registration
i have neither,,,, so i aint playing
miss the days of phoning your entry in.....life was so less complicated only a few years ago...lol..

I heard they're charging a 5% service fee for online registration... Can anyone confirm?

This enrages me. They're just milking this population more, and so many folks are so geared up to play they let themselves be exploited. They're already taking a rake, already going to make more rake after bust outs play cash (at 20 bucks a hand) and also, the registration process "work" is the same regardless of what you enroll in, so explain to me how they charge between 20 bucks for a 400 dollar game and a 100 dollar service fee for the 2k buyin?

Woodbine in particular is the worst rake in Ontario that I'm aware of, and it will never change because we as a community have so many people desperate to play that they can just exploit us. We're all fucking idiots.

Mark,,,i hear ya.....i will stick to a couple of Home games...essentially 1 table S&G ,s and a multi table tournament with no rake....instead of getting bent over by a Casino who just want to rip and tear
even though the rake was high, i regularly attended the Casino Brantford Tourneys....no nickel an diming....easy registration and a friendly group of players
Years go a cop...ya believe it or not lol....ran tournaments in Orangeville and later in Belwood....very small rake...enough to cover the Pizza break......any veterans on here remember attending these?,,,,,,,,,,,good times....sigh

Did some math,

If you register online and pay the convenience fee, and consider it part of the rake (because, let's face it, it is), you're looking at 22.5-23% for the 600 and 800 dollar tournies. Seriously folks, as a community we need to band together and boycott casino poker rooms that charge this much.

Whatever I need can be had outside of a casino in general (mixed tournaments/cash games). I think rakes were $5 max last time I stepped into a casino poker room. Plan on keeping it that way unless I’m in Vegas

[unknown] couldn't agree with you more but Woodbine is packed with monster lists still every weekend.

One thing about the bigger rake/take though is winnings are tax free, so thats a bonus over playing in Trumps USA.

If I were to show up at the casino this Saturday around 1230/1pm any educated guesses as to how long in-person registration would take?

marban seniors is a crapshoot. Many different skill levels, fast blinds, just stay away.

I registered for the $600 and $1000 and paid the fees. Total of around $100 for the two. The alternative would be to spend three hours driving there and back. Time and gas make the fees fine.
