As mentioned in the BCC satellites thread, I'll be giving the multi-table a shot on Friday morning, and will also be at BCC tonight, playing, most likely, 20/40.

I just got totally worked over in my first ever B&M Casino game. My friend and I drove to Lethbridge to play in a tournament, only to discover that it had already filled up by the time we arrived. Not wanting to have travelled all that distance for nothing, we hung around and hoped some good cash games would start up. We eventually decided to join a 1/2 PL DC table. Initial problems?
My specialty is online NLHE tournaments.
This was a pot limit cash game with very skilled loose-aggresive players. Oh yeah, and they all seemed to be nuts about Omaha, a game I have very little experience with.
Couple this with the fact that I was playing too high for my bankroll. I THOUGHT that having $200 to spare would be adequate for a 1/2 game with $100 min buy-in, but there were guys who sat down with a couple grand at the table. Some of them put a straddle on as well. It was very rare that you could see a flop for less than 8 or 10 dollars.
Since I was so shortstacked and the table was so wildly aggresive, I thought playing very tightly would be my best bet. The problem with that? On top of ALL THIS, I was completely card-dead. The first time I got what I thought was actually a half-decent Omaha hand and had good position, I raised to $10. One guy remarked "Oh hey, the guy who's hardly played a hand just raised.... let's run over him." Even playing as tight as I was, I got no respect for a hand... my stack just wasn't deep enough to seem threatening to anyone. The flop gave me a flush draw. The 2 players in the hand checked to me. I poped it up $25. One guy called. Turn is trash. He checks, I breifly consider moving in on him, but he's the type of guy who would call hoping to hit an overcard. I check as well. He pushes on the river, I fold.
Long story short, I lost my $200. Not bad considering there were fluctuations of thousands for others. Never felt more like a donk in my life, but I sure as hell learned a lot.

Better to wait for a table with NL, than play for the sake of playing. I think everyone gets tired of being card dead once in a while, so we start to play Ace+rag, etc, just for the sake of playing a hand. The more patience you have, the more money you will make in the long run. Good luck with the next visit.

Have the rest of today off - heading up to Rama this afternoon for some $1/2 and $2/5 No Limit.

Thanks. Went a couple weeks ago and did pretty well. Placed 16th in the 66 person tourney I went there for (outside of the money but decent for my first time) and won back double my tourney buy-in in the side games.

Anyone in KW interested in carpooling down to BCC tomorrow (Thursday evening)? Probably returning in the wee hours in the morning.

When they make a speech like this it usually means they have a monster

There is no such thing as a monster in Omaha.
Wes Thurs maybe. Couldn't leave before 8 pm though.
Killed the 2/5 for $145 over 3 hrs today.
Raise AK, five to flop, flop is AAK, 4 to turn, turn blank, 2 to river. River betting goes 4 bets H/U.
Guess what came on river?
4.
My opponent has?
44.
Love it.
Today's tourney had 40 players, 3 $2k seats + $80 given out. Finished about 2:30 pm. Seats available still on all days.

Tourney started with 32 players today, but was too tired from playing overnight last night to play. Left with 5 racks on reds from the 10/20 table...

Wtf? Don't you play 10-20 online? What are you doing donking around at LLHE? At least tell me you were drunk... :)

I only had 3 hrs so I put my name on all the lists and they shortly opened a new 2/5 table. Then the suit came around with a 5/10 seat but figured the table was just too good to leave. There was another 10/20 player at my table and his eyes bugged out with disbelief when I folded face up my Q10 to his turn bet on a 10 high board. So he showed me his K10.

Thought since this thread was dead, I'd post. I'm headed back to the Brantford Casino for a little 2/5 donking on Thursday during the day. If anyone wants to stop by and say hi, easy guy to notice, glasses and a mole over my left eye (above the eyebrow).

I'll be in Brantford Tomorrow (Friday). Probably playing 5/10
