I will never complain about a bad beat again.....

Can you imagine how this guy felt....

Jack Mahalingam is all-in for $5,000 and is called an opponent in late position. Mahalingam shows 8spade8club and his opponent has 5heart5club. The flop is 6spade5spade5diamond and his opponent flops quads. The turn is a 9spade giving Mahalingam a gut-shot straight flush draw (his only way to win). The river is the 7spade giving Mahalingam the straight flush and the hand.

  • I don't think that really counts as a horrible bad beat. Granted, he hit runner runner & a 1 outer on the river but he was a big favourite when all the money was in.

If AA was all-in preflop & hit runners for a flush to beat a flopped straight (ie AA was called by 98 & flopped a straight), is it really a bad beat?
  • That's not a bad beat, that's just a bad way to lose.
  • Its not so much a bad beat as it is a good story.
