  • I can't decide whether or not I think that's cool. My girlfriend DEFINITELY thinks it's cool, as will most of our girlfriends. Myself, I'm actually kind of glad to see him finally make a final table. It seems to me that he's been taking poker seriously (and I don't mean 'poke her', as in J-Lo, as in Annie Duke...). I'm glad he's getting better, and as CanadaKev pointed out, if this guy becomes some kind of pro, it will do wonders for the image of poker, and it will be responsible for another influx of new players, not unlike the Moneymaker Effect.

  • I guess that's cool.
  • Just heard that they are down to 3 players tonight in this event which i mistakenly said was a 5K buyin. It is actually 10K buyin.
There are about 1 million in chips in play and Ben has 400K playing 3 handed now. Hes looking good to say the least.
WPT is kicking themselves for missing this event.

  • Wow. Wasn't he the short stack going in? That's impressive.
  • I heard he ended up winning it. Even if he didn't, good job by him.
  • He did win. Wow, good job Bennie!
  • Wow, was this a WSOP event?

    Congrats to him!
  • This was the California State Poker Championships, it was the main event at Commerce Casino. This is one of only a few 10K buyin events not covered on network television, what a shame!
However press was there in abundance yesterday to watch Ben compete against these guys.
I hear Entertainment Tonight did a lot of interviews so keep yur eyes peeled for that and let me know.

  • Respect turned to submission on the last hand when Affleck bet 30k with Ad-10d into a flop of 10-6-3, Goldstein raised 30k and Affleck moved him in holding pocket jacks. An 8 and 4 came, and the young matinee idol was the 2004 Cal State champion.

    who had what?

    confused

Yeah, that's odd. He must have made a diamond flush or something.

now that definately makes more sense :)
  • Ben also elimanated the 3rd player when they were down to three. Esposito.

He did it with Presto, 5 5 in the pocket. I'm telling you, if you have pocket 5's, go for it. If you have the faith it will pay off. I always play this in tournies and always wins.

Not for others... probably cuz they lack the faith.
