Holy Hiway Robbery, Batman!!

:rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:
Can someone please explain to me how the price of the gasoline that sits in the ground under the gas station can jump 30%(or more!!) in 24 Hours? Did the night cashier add cocaine to the mixture or something?

Next time I'm at Esso, I think I'll cut out the middle man and just shove the nozzle up my ass.

Please feel free to bitch along with me below.

  • It's because you didn't participate in the Sept. 1 gas out.

  • It's because that when the price of the barrel goes up they are LAFO and when it goes down they are FIFO.
  • Sorry Gide.
Could you please explain LAFO and FIFO.

I'm not familer with those contractions.

I think he means LIFO (Last In First Out) and FIFO (First In First Out). They're accounting methods for tracking inventory, and determining what cost to use. Personally, I think they're using the HUPD method (Holiday Up, Pissed-Off Down).
  • I believe they are using the term extortion. The long weekend thing, contining troubles in the Middle East, and the tragic distaster of Hurricane Katrina, seem to be good enough reason to bleed us dry.

I wonder what SUV drivers are paying to fill up. My Matrix was $60.

  • I know quite a few people who cancelled their travel plans for the long weekend due to this outragous gas prices. Most were planning to travel out of town (cottages, Ottawa, Windsor etc etc) but decided to back out due to the cost of gas.

Cost me almost $70 to fill up my Camry from near empty.
  • All just an excuse to make more money playing poker :)
  • My pick-up holds 132 L of gas... you do the math!!!

Thats a large tank on a GM pick up
  • Thats a large tank on a GM pick up

    And a Dodge too!

In addition... I don't fill it up too often in Canada... There is cheap(er) gas on the reserve... right next to the casino!... across the border...

It was $3.509 US a gallon last night. :'(

    but... 3.509 * 0.264172051 * 1.188 = $1.101 Can per litre :)
  • I was about to get 3.10 or so US per gallon down near the Prime Outlet Mall across Niagara Falls during the week last week. Probaly went a bit higher since.
  • Between Waterloo <-> Ottawa last weekend and Waterloo <-> Canadas Wonderland on Monday I spent $170 on gas. The highest I paid was $1.418 (my car needs premium).

  • Hey Johhny,

I was on holidays last week, before I left Port Dover I put a few bucks in and it was 102.9, of course I made a comment about the price of gas and how sickening it was and that I can't wait to get home where it's cheaper...........

got home and got the pleasure of filling up at 134.9, I am smart S.M.R.T.

Filled up today for 127.1 and was happy.....how the fuck do we become happy paying 127.1......

anyways, if anyone is interested siphoning kits are on sale at crappy tire for $19.99, I imagine they'll be up over $100 come the weekend!
  • I'm sure the next Canadian Tire comerical we see will have that bearded dude showing off his new siphoning kit to his friends and neighbours.

  • I bet you're right, It's my guess that bearded dude like to have things in his mouth to suck on!
