We must have a minimum of 70 players, and this is what will happen:
$250x70=$17,500 which breaks down like this......we will re-adjust the prize pool if there are more than 70 players.....
Option A:
1st Place: Takes the seat at WSOP ($13,500, $10,000 Buy-in, $3,500 to the player for flights etc.) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
2nd-7th place:$350 + A seat at the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($90 value)
Option B:
1st Place doesn't want the seat and wants the cash then it breaks down like this:
1st place: $10,000 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
2nd place: $2135 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
3rd place: $1220 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
4th place: $915 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
5th place $793 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
6th place $610 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
7th place $450 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value)
And don't forget newyorkpoker.com will be there as wellÂ
The Witchdoctor shirts are being purchased by us, for the final table. I am sure if you ask Dave nicely he might give some away.
Here is how the blind structure will work:
You will start with $2500 in chips
Blinds will start at 25/25 (25 min.) then go to 25/50 (25min.) and then double every 25 min. There will be a 10 min. break at the end of every 3rd level.
When we have reached the final table, blinds will double until the first player is eliminated, then they will double every time another player is eliminated.
There will also be a $1/$2 cash game for those interested.
DISCLAIMER:
If we do not make the 70 player mark for the WSOP Satellite buy June 6th, Bolton Poker reserves the right to change the tournament format back to it's regular $120 buy-in with 1hr. of $50 rebuy's. At which time the game format for that tournament will be announced. If you have made a deposit, and decide that you do not want to play in the $120 event, your deposit will be refunded fully and completely.

This is an awesome idea! I do have one concern, though. You say that the winner gets $10000 for the seat plus $3500 for the flight, etc. My question is, "Is the entry fee in $US?" If it is not, The exchange rate will make the entry fee in to the main event of the WSOP over $12500, which does not leave much for flight, hotel, etc.
Please understand that I am not trying to slam the idea. If I lived anywhere close enough to be there, I would. Just wondering about the above question.
The entry fee is in U.s. dollars. I am sure that Rob means undertands that. WHat I believe he wants to do is give the winner the equivilant to a seat and little extra for travel........you can work out the exact numbers.
As everyone can see this is a very low raked event. Rob and Terry have always operated this way, and it is refreshing.
As for the structure, It shoudl be conveyed that a shootout means that every table plays down to one winner. 7 winners from seven tables meet at the final table with a new chip stack. This creates great side action right away, and If I understand correct there will be sattelite freeze outs to a Poker cruise in August for 35$ a pop as well. This event will be stacked!!!.
The blinds are perfect for a freeze out style tourney. And eveyone shoudl know that they will progress in a normal fashion at the priliminary tables, as well as the final table
25-50, 50-100, 100,200 200-400, 400-800.............I think 500-1000 (is better than 800-1600 here)........800-1600, 1000-2000...and so on...........
The idea of doubling is good but gets harsh down the stretch..........
For those of you who are wondering.....who the hell am I.......It's me RiverRatJosh, and I work with rob at his events.
I am sure Rob is open to suggestions at this early stage like the ones above.....if anyone has any other reasonable requests, let him know now, because in a few days it will all be set in stone..........and people like consistency when it comes to structure.
THIS IS A NO BRAINER....
Josh
Hey boxcard, no problems, I fully understand.
Here is the best deal I have found so far. Now, I can get the package alot cheaper if you don't stay on the strip but you have to be in the middle of it allÂ

So, yes there will be about $300-$400 extra that will come out of our pockets, that's alright. If we hit capacity, I believe that it will work out.

If Brent is alright with this, we will run them once the main event has started to eliminate people.
Once I have confirmed with Brent, if it is OK, then we will post the details.
For the players (Joe Rogers, Song Pak, Wayne MacPhee"pearson pub winner", Leanne Rescorl) that were at the last Bolton Poker event and won a seat($120 value) for the June event. You have three options for this June 11th tournament.
1) Use the seat's value and pay the remainder $130.
2) Not enter the event and save your seat for the July Tournament
3) Save your seat for the July Tournament, and still play in the WSOP Satellite
Which ever one is best for you, we will accommodate it. If you have another option that you would like to talk to us about, please contact us.
I just thought that I should let everyone know that Josh is the man that helps Bolton Poker events run smooth. So on that note, I will confir with Josh on what will make this tournament relaxed but still intense at the same time. I will do that tommorow morning at 9:30 (meeting with josh anyways) and then post an exact blind schedule for the tournament.
70 players x $250 = $17,500
Option A:
WSOP Main event Buy-in = $10,000 US =$12,612.0 CAD
Flight and hotel = Depart: 6/07/05Â Return:15/07/05Â (10 day stay at Hilton L.V. 1 block from strip) = $1551CAD
Total = $14,163CAD
Which leaves a total of $3337 for the prize pool.
2nd-7th receive $560 inclusive ($120 seat and $15 shirt + $350 x 7) which totals $3360
Option B:
1st place doesn't go to Vegas.....
1st place: $10,000 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $10,135
2nd place: $2135 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $2270
3rd place: $1220 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $1355
4th place: $915 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $1050
5th place $793 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $928
6th place $610 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $745
7th place $450 + a seat in the July Bolton Poker Tournament ($120 value) + a WITCHDOCTORPOKER shirt ($15 value) = $585
Which totals = $17,068
Bolton Poker's total expenses for the night will total $1600, which is were the cash game comes in.
If option A is chosen than we are down $23.
If option B is chosen than we are down $1168.
Like last time, it will be a $1/$2 NL cash game, with a rake of 5%, but only on the pots that are over $30. Which means, the min/max rake would be $1 on a $30 pot, or $5 on a $100 pot.
The players at our last cash game played for almost 7 hrs. And as you know, we were in the whole as soon as we dealt the cards. That cash game brought in $1248, which covered the remainder of the costs and payed for the three seats we gave away as prizes at the tournament and the seat we gave away at the Pearson Pub game last week. For a total of $1080, so Terry and I profited $168 for the evening. Why do we take that risk? Terry hates the risk, I love the game! Being +/- $200, and being able to play cards in nice venue rather than a Friends crowded smokey basement (no offense Jeff ) is better than a kick to the head.
I hope that I have made this easier for the ones who were confused, and I hope that this sounds exciting enough to hit 70 players.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please post them here, or contacts us.
Rob
I have to tell you this, these are the kind of people Josh has working for him. The dealers were tipped well from the live action players, and the dealers threw some of their tips into the rake for us. I went into the cash game with $60 and came out about $650, $200 of which I put into the rake as well. So we didn't actually make $1200 we made more like $900 and change.
And this is why we will always do business with Josh and his gang.
I have been spreading the word about your tourney to friends and co-workers of mine. Do you think you could e-mail me the first post you made in this thread and I can give it out to my buddies so we can get some more guys signed up for you. You don't by chance even have business cards do you??...Dave
The response for the WSOP has been pretty good. But due to some personal circumstances beyond my control, I am postponing the June 10th tournament. I am very sorry to those who are interested and have registered.
We are rescheduling a tournament for July, the buyin will be $120, and we are working on a few plans with the Regina Casino, and are hoping to send someone to the $1,000,000 prize pool CPT event at the end of July.
Once I have reorganized myself, Terry and I will get the July Tournament underway, and you all will be the first to know.
Once again, I am sorry about this, and we will make it up to you in July.
Everyone who has won a seat for our tournaments, those seats will be available for the July tournament if you so wish to use them.
Thank you for your support and patience
Rob Spence
