PS 350K Tournament hands and result

Overall I thought I played very well, honestly i'm not sure if I could have played better then I did. What a rush playing for your team like that, can't wait to do it again!! Here are a few memorable hands that I would love some comments on, I'm just glad I didn't get put out on a suckout.
Thank you to all the well wishers, it's nice to have that much support from your friends.

Allright so not such a huge laydown, AQ is getting a lot easier to lay down these days. Makes it a little harder when you don't know the person and they havent played a hand.

This actually is one hand that I'm not particularily proud of but thought I would post it, perhaps a larger bet on the turn but I had him on QT or something similar, didn't know he was a 76off kinda guy..

I'm feeling great, had position and felt like I had a nice read on all of these guys in the hand. Might as well raise...love the outcome.

I Love the way him and I played this hand. I'm thinking, I've got this guy right where I want him. Anyone else lose everything on this hand?

I ended up finsihing 974th/2350 which could have been much better if not for the hand above. Thanks again to all the well wishers and the CNPL. More to come I'm sure.

  • Yeah, can;t fault you there. If you want to win big, your got to play big, which is what you did. With 22 and hitting trips it would be hard to put someone on 99. Personally, if I had the 99, I may probably have popped you (cutoff) back up because I woudl have put you on a steal, but the sly call by 99 just kinda hit it. And then you think the guy maybe hit his K or two pair and now you just want to make him/her pay you off. Good try though. Keep on improving!
  • set over set ouch. PLaying IRL in a well structured tourney maybe u can lay it down, but in the stars special, never. Tough luck.

That hand in the BB, u shoulda folded the river, rather than paying off the straight. But you know that.

    gl next time.

  • Shannon

Well done you looked strong in the tourney. My only suggestion would have been to call the river. My reasoning is the following.

If you call and by some miracle lose you are still left with approximately 3190 chips. This is enough to still be a player at this point.
If you call and win you are up to 10790 chips. A definete threat with your skill to get in the money and cause some damage.
The pot was big enough to just consider calling. I know this looks like a great chance to close him out and pick up another 2420 but in the world of online poker always expect the unexpected.
The fact he made such a large bet raises some RED FLAGS for me. It is a marathon so I like the idea of calling at this point. Mind you if he raised all in I would have called also. Just food for thought.

    GL in the future
  • Good work Shannon!
Tough beat on the set. I like the call on the river which was already stated. Winning a pot that big is always good enough for me.
Nice work. I think I may have to sign up for the CNPL, sounds like fun.
I went to the site, thanks for the link by the way.
    When is the next sat.?
  • i came 10th in this tournament wich is good etc but i had a decent stack about 400K when my qq got cracked by ak right before the small stack would of died off :/..i'm AnosaJ i also came top 30 in the PP quarter million guaranteed that was going on at the same time up 5.5K on the day not to bad.
  • Wow! Great day indeed JasonA!!
Keep up the good work, and may all your poker days turn out as well as this one did. :)
  • I agree that I likely acted a bit to fast on that one, you know when you think you have someone trapped so perfectly and they bet into you at the perfect moment. Well, that's the way I was feeling at the time. It's funny to though because I never bet/raise the river, well live and learn.

Great Job Jason, you should think about joining the CNPL, give us some of that love...
