Should Games be Cancelled Till Things Calm Down?

Just wondering what other people think? Might be a smart thing to wait till things calm down a bit?

  • Be like Trump... It will all die out soon...
  • I think going to the Casino should be out of the question. Too many unknowns, too many players you don't know. Home games are smaller, and I would hope no one would come to one if they feel ill.
It may be the only way we get to play some poker in a safer environment. I say let the home games keep going.

Issue I see is that you can be carrying the virus and be asymptomatic, thus potentially passing it on to others without knowing it. Then a day or 2 later you develop symptoms and everyone gets concerned.
  • I was not aware you could pass it on, even though you aren't showing symptoms. While rare, apparently it can happen, link below.

  • I may consider not hosting for a while as well.
  • I'll play it by ear for now. Still a few weeks until my next game.

Me too. People can still sign up. Will let everybody know closer to the date as well
  • I'm likely cancelling my game
  • I just assume I have licked everyone hands at the table when I play poker with them. So many people touching cards and playing with chips.... now there's a good visual!!
  • Ontario is shutting down all casinos starting tonight.
  • I won't be playing any home games for a few months. It takes a few days for symptoms to show up so anyone can be carrying. It is sad, but the 'new reality' for a while. Realistically this will not go away until well into the summer and it may come back again in the fall.
  • Any body able to set up PokerStars home games and etf funds for buyins payouts
  • I think I can, but dont have any funds on Stars and haven't since I pulled out several years ago.
  • I would be interested in an online homegame
  • You don’t need to put funds on stars. Actually I don’t think you can on home games. Escrow funds with the host and then he will send the winners efts after the game is finished
  • Let me have a look later on this evening. I would be glad to escrow as I am sure that everyone (most) trust me. Issue is, what about ETF transfer fees. I guess that would be the take? If this goes a while we could create a pool and then settle up at the end? Promise I wouldn't spend it all on a trip to Italy.
  • I was thinking of setting up a home game with play money and just escrowing real money.
  • Btw, play money can be topped up by 15K every four hours.

Just make sure it doesn’t end up with the hockey pool money. 😲
