Wow great night tonight!

It's 5:00am Western time and sitting in my party poker account is $446 USD!
All that from 10:30pm till now at $5+1 tournaments with $50 starting. I just opened an account there today!

Yippie! And in 2 hours I will be leaving to Whistler-Blackcomb to do some skiing.

Cheers,
Bryan

  • Wow! You must have been on fire ... and playing about 3 tables at once too. Nice job!

One comment I would make, however, is that you should consider playing in the $10+1 tournaments. When you play $5+1 you are giving 20% of the prize pool to the casino compared to 10% at the $10+1.

I don't think you will find the competition any better and you should yield the same results. You will also get a lot more value for your time (i.e you could have gone to bed at 2am rather then 5am -- LOL

  • I agree that it's not worth trying to beat the 20% house juice in $5+$1 tournaments.

If you are actually good enough to be beating the 20% house juice, you should *easily* be able to move up in limits.

Alternatively, PokerStars offers $5+$0.50 sit-n-go tournaments (1 table or 2 table).

  • It is funny when I was winding down last night from my normal play I decided to play a $30+3 just for fun. Players were typically bad (I was surprised at how bad) and ultimately I got headsup but lost and finished in 2nd. (the hand was one where I raised with AJ and was called by A5 who proceeded to hit two fives!).

Anyway, after that knowing I should go to bed but wanting to play more I played a $10+1. Surprisingly the competition was quite tough!! Part of it was that I didn't really get any hands, but I had trouble and ultimately my AT failed to outrun KQ and I finished somewhere around 5-6th.

With only two tests I would say this is very likely that I got on some odd single tables .. but who knows, maybe $30+3 is easier than $10+2?
  • I've noticed a big differences in quality even in the $5 tables. I think $5 and $10 are likely about the same, but one or two people that know what they are doing makes a big difference and doesn't happen very often. I can play one right after the other and it's night and day.
  • Way to go Royal. Maybe we should have a special CPP codeword or use a secret handshake or something. Just so we all don't start bumping into each other on those sites. lol

Lol I was just thinking that. I just deposited some money at Stars so I can play in the pokerforum tourneys. I'll be playing some 'regular' tournaments there in the meantime, though. I'm easy to spot. My username is all_aces, which may not be the brightest thing I've ever done.

If any of you end up at the same table as me, and if I didn't just river you, please say hello!

  • very nice winnings
  • At Pokerstars I'm DJEP

At UB and Party I'm X15

See you there. Or, to keep this post in context, I won't see you there. lmao
  • Congrats man, i am stinking on tourney play. I think I better get a book on it!
