  • Best I can find right now through myvegas is 25% off Luxor.
  • I can get the time off. Not getting anything comped thru Total Rewards. For MyVegas, it looks like the Mirage has an offer for one free night mid-week for 52,500 with Sep 23 and 24 available. Excalibur has one free night mid-week for 15,000 with Sep 23 and 24 available. Luxor has one free night mid-week for 18,000 with Sep 27, 28, and 29 available. I have just over 160,000.

I booked my free room at Luxor for Sep 29. Right now it looks like Monte Carlo is giving me the best rate for the rest of the days, unless I go to the RIO which is really out of the way and it only saves me $50.

I'll hold off booking the other nights for another week or so.

Anyone interested in chopping the room with me?
  • No Louisville meetup this year. WSOP circuit event is at Horseshoe SI, starting when we get back from Vegas.

  • Hey Moose, I actually stayed a night here in Early July. We were travelling North from Nashville, and had planned to camp at Mammoth Cave a couple nights, but the very unpredictable weather caused us to reconsider. Ended up booking here last minute and got a great price.

Couple of things to consider if you've never been here before.

    1. The street address of this property doesn't exist on my GPS, and difficulty in locating it seems to be a common complaint on trip advisor. There was also a ton of construction/detour related crap in the Louisville area that had us all turned around. This was particular difficult not knowing the area and arriving late at night. Might not be so bad in the light of day.

    2. If I recall correctly, the resort fees here were $13 a night.

    3. The property is comically large. The walk from my hotel room to the poker room was about 15 to 2O minutes, without ever setting foot outside. For context, I'm in reasonable shape, over 6 feet tall, and routinely get asked to slow down by people I'm walking with. Plan accordingly.

That's about all I can think of. Have fun out there.
  • There is a Groupon for hooters right now, avail next 3 days. 22 PER NIGHT plus 18 resort fee. Sep23-25

  • JacNok's TR.

Stopped at Caesar's Windsor overnight on Sep 22. Up way too early on 23rd to catch flight in Detroit. Checked in at Monte Carlo and played a bit of 2-6 spread limit, over to Planet Hollywood for the 2-4-8 Bingo game, over to Flamingo to get some time in for the freeroll, played a bit of bubble craps at Casino Royale. Finally went to bed after being up for over 24 hrs.

Sep 24 - Back to PH for more bingo. booked a nice profit.

Back over to Flamingo and had another good session. did the buffet at Bellagio (free with myVegas rewards).

    FlamStack.jpg

Sep 25 - played the flamingo freeroll and went out in 20th for $200. Back to PH for Bingo and did a tournament (bubbled in 6th). Over to Flamingo for a bit to meet Moose then over to Mirage for a bit of 4-8 limit.

Sep 26 - back to PH Bingo then a brief stop at Flamingo and over to Venetian for some 4-8 O8.

Sep 27 - back to PH Bingo, and another try at the tournament (in the money - chopped by chip count and got $400).

Sep 28 - over to MGM for the 11am tournament (busted early when my QQ ran into KK) but made up for it at cash game. Stopped in at Luxor so the Mooses could check in then back to PH for Bingo and tried the tournament again (out in 7th).

Sep 29 - played some 2-6 spread limit at MC before I checked out, went to Atomic Museum with Moose (very cool if you're an engineer or like blowing things up). Did the buffet at Aria (free with myVegas), back to Venetian for 4-8 limit and 4-8 O8, then checked into Luxor. My first time staying there (free night with myVegas) and I was upgraded to a suite. The elevators run diagonally which takes some getting used to.

Sep 30 - flight back with stop overnight in Windsor where a booked a nice profit.

Overall I was down around $150 for poker but had a great time. Looking forward to the next one.
