Have a day off and haven't been there for awhile so I'm heading out for some live action. Not my first choice of tournament but my opportunities are limited.
First 4 levels went hellagood. I found the guy who is happy to go all in with QQ on a JT7r board of course me holding 89. Flopped 2 sets but only got paid with 1. So far so good. Oh, and I saw REEBS!

Next 4 levels was spent just spinning wheels. Ran PF raises with JJ into flops with A's twice. Knocked out a 9k stack with AK>AQ. Lost 2 races to small stacks once 99<AT and the other TJc<44 (flop T river 4.
Sitting at 32k. Blinds going to 600/1200. Apparently 42 players left.
OMG that just happened. I've grown my stack pretty quick after the second break by making a couple moves and then picking off short stacks with dominant hands (AQ>QJ, 99>44) and have it up to about 65k.
Blinds get to 1k/2k and I move (J9hh) on one of the weaker players raising his BB to 5k...he calls. Flop 4cKhTh. He checks and I bet 7.5k he calls with about 8k behind. Turn comes 8s and he jams I obviously call and miss everything on the river to his set of 4's.
Two hands later 15k stack shoves on my BB and I wake up with QQ. His A7 goes runner runner for 9 high straight.
Two hands after that I shove 18k with AhQh in late position on 4 limpers. Everyone folds except snap caller in MP. Of course he snap calls with KQo (and we basically have the same stack btw) and the board runs out KT6 K Q. Nice full house sir and gg. FML
Brantford now makes you have a "Winners Circle" account if you want to play in their poker tournaments. Never needed one before, never would have wanted one but now I have to. With the sign up you are given a $5 Slot or match play on a table game.
Well I'm halfway out the door when I realize I still have this stupid voucher in my pocket. I ask myself "why would you turn around for a stupid $5 play?" but do it anyway in hopes of the recent bad luck at the poker table reversing course.
I get to a $10 min BlackJack table and put down my voucher with a $5 bill. Dealer ever so dickishly points out that I have to bet the minimum in cash and the voucher can go on top. Now I'm regretting turning around and wasting my time for this shit and I say "if I'd known it was going to be an ordeal for you to explain this to me I wouldn't have come to your table for one hand."
Hearing that one of the other players asks incredulously, "You're only going to play one hand?" I reply nicely with, "That's my plan as I'm a poker player, not a gambler."
Well sun of a gun if I don't win 6 straight hands (letting the min bet ride) and cash out $55 on the first lost hand.
That's why I play on line Live poker is so rigged. Was thinking of playing Brantford today, but yesterdays session at Rama was so poor I don't think I want to make the drive.

you can call ahead to register with a credit card although you'll need a players card as well which you have to get at the casino. the first time you register if you don't have a players card, they'll still sign you up tentatively but you'll have to show them a players card to play. all of this can be done in person at the poker desk.
i won't be playing this one, but i'll most likely be playing at least one or to live events over the xmas holidays.
Anyone planning on playing the $160 deep stack on Thursday at Brantford? I think I'll be there... I've played two others recently and final tabled both of them.
