And how high the rake is...over/under? 20%
  • So, what's the BI?
  • Interested in this for sure
  • Their cash game rake is higher than Brantford, and people still come.
The place has less class than the horse stalls.
    The food is awful.

    And people still come.

I suspect they will have awful rake.
  • Electronic poker or real poker?
  • So probably $200 tournament 640 seats. Will sell out day 1 if so.

Or reading it again, you have to play one of the daily qualifiers? If so, most likely not playing
  • does anyone know the dates/times of this? Seeing nothing on the website.
  • CNE casino is up and running. Anyone check it out yet?
  • Just got a quick text from my buddy who went last night regarding the CNE tournament

    It is all qualifiers

step 1 is 10 person $120 - winner gets ticket to next tourney plus $200

Step 2 is 20 person and winner gets ticket to the main.

cannot buy in directly to the 20 person.
  • So this works out to the equivalent to a high roller event? 120*10*20= a huge entry fee!

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU

Like I said this was a text I received so it might not be fully accurate.

I called CNE to ask about their tournaments and the above was what was explained by them. so i guess its true.
  • A $24K buyin???? Wow... I don't think they will get many direct buyin's.;)

ok thanks for confirming, it is looking like a 18-20 person final table. I will give it a shot but only one.

lol wouldn't be 24k, crunching the numbers and assuming BF is right about the 16.7% rake it works out to about a $15992 buy in lol

CNE will be making some dough from this tournament.

Gamblers paradise..>:D Even with a large % of bad players I'm not sure this one is anywhere close to +ev especially when you consider the huge variance there must be.

And wouldn't it would be just like a $24K buyin ($120x10x20), $16k plus $8K fee... ughhh.. No thanks..
  • Cray balls! I'm waiting for the 3k flipament tourney.

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU
  • So let's get this straight the olg authorized a 10k+ buy in tourney essentially but has issues with authorizing NL there at the cne
  • Here is my analysis of the
    :
  • I hope they get very little interest in this, so they change the format for next year.

In case anybody else is as delusional as me that you are the #1 best player in the tournament table, PM me and I can at least tell you how to reduce your losses. Friends can also phone me if they want to hear the sad details.
Yes friends, 1-888-BADBEAT! For only $3.99/min you too can hear about terrible structures, horrible body odour, and sick river cards! 20% forum discount, VISA accepted.

Hey blondefish, what did that one tourney director ever do to you? You've mentioned it in a couple of threads but I still don't know what happened.
  • just post the details!

so this is kind of like those pstars hyper turbo qualifiers with the 500 starting stack?

screw CNE, more reason to stay away except when I have to go with the G/F and win her a prize or two.
  • I hope they get very little interest in this, so they change the format for next year.

Unfortunately because its the only "legal" tourney in the GTA downtown it's going to go nutty. The average live player in Toronto doesn't care about structure or rake when it comes to playing.

If they did they wouldn't even be supporting the limit game to begin with but everyday at a 1130 the same bad players line up to sit down then spend every hour moving to tables where they consider it an "action" table.

I wish I could do a documentary on the perceived ability of these guys at the CNE.

The funny thing is they all play the same way because they don't have a clue and they mimic each other because they see one guy winning a pot with J3 because he called 4 bets pre and wanted to gamble so they all assume that's the only way to be profitable in limit.

Then you hear every 3 minutes about some bad beat story because a guy got his aces cracked by 89 on a 4567 board and couldn't fold the river.

Don't get me wrong it's a great place to play if you are a forum member but don't expect any changes from the general population in that glass fish tank
  • Right on man.i went there yesterday and found the place a terrible venue. Then i got caught in the rush hour traffic.I will never go there again even with free chips.
  • as i said in my other post

ontario, olg are absolutely fucking clueless when it comes to poker. its in the fucking stone age.

even if toronto gets a casino, if its run by olg or some ding dong canadian, its gonna be shit for poker.

if mgm came over, and had an american run it, sure, then it has potential.

    cne is a joke.

people say they dont want a casino because it promotes gambling and addiction blah blah blah...but they dont mind the cne raking players up the ass and feeding off of poker.

    they dont give a fuck.
  • As bad as the CNE might be it still has much better customer service than the poker room at Fallsview.

This i somewhat agree with, they call names quick and run through a list in 5 minutes
  • This is surprisingly true. The CNE Casino already does a better job in its FIRST year running satellites than the horribly-managed Fallsview poker room has done in NINE years! :o While the first-year CNE blind structure is BINGO, at least it took only minutes for me to play another hyper turbo satellite unlike the hours it took at Fallsview. After I won first place, I received a plastic card and $200 cash right away as opposed to the hours it took at Fallsview.

My poker nickname comes from liking to play Bingo poker and win, >:D so if anybody wants me to win a semi-finals entry for them, contact me.
