first time B&M at Point Edward

Not sure if anyone's interested, but maybe some people considering getting their feet wet will find this valuable. I've been playing home games for years, and online seriously for about a year now.

Well, I finally went to the Casino last night to try some $3/$6. At first I was nervous, but that passed fairly quickly. The main thing that stuck out in my mind was how terrible some of the people playing were. I was the best player at the table by far! There were people playing every hand, people raising any ace to the river. People calling all the way to the river with Pocket 3's (and the betting capped almost every round). I would say that most $.50/$1 players on Pacific were better than the majority of the players at the table! There were 2 older guys that were decent players, but nothing fancy. Strictly ABC poker.
I went down a fair bit when 2 drunken maniacs sat down and put the table on tilt for about an hour (capping almost every round, at least $9 to see the flop). I had 2 nut flush draws, and one nut straight draw that missed, but the pot odds were so good I had to stay in. In the end I was up about $50, and had a great time. I can't wait to go again. I'm just sorry that I hadn't gone before...

For others in the same boat, get off the fence and try it, you won't regret it.

  • what does B & M mean?
  • Brick and mortar. Basically, the stuff casinos are physically built from. The term however is used to describe any 'live' game, as opposed to online.
