Approacing bubble time

Live 85 player tournament. Prize money starts at final table of 10.

19 players left, 10 at my table. Blinds are 1500/3000 ante 300.

I'm short stack of 35k at my table. Avg stack is 65k. Villian utg min raises to 6k. I'm next to act with pocket tens. All in is pretty much my only move?

I push. Folded around to utg. He asks how much. Before I'm done counting it he calls with AQ. Good I guess. It's a race with me in the lead. Flop 994. Turn Q. River I can't remember, my coat is on.

Looking back if I call his 6k and we see that flop he may check fold to my all in? I can't see ever playing it that way. What are your thoughts?

Is folding PF even a remote possibility?

  • i'd push it preflop. can't fold to a min bet preflop with tens and 11 BBs.
  • Q falls on flop, you check fold? Changes nothing except your best shot to win was to get everyone to fold preflop and your best chance to double up was also to get it in preflop. Win win in my books.
  • Q falls on flop I may still stack off, don't we like to put them on AK, when it fits our needs?
  • you gotta win like 9/10 of your flips to ship a tourney so its a standard flip spot here
  • I hadn't got involved in any races yet. So is winning 1/1 too much to ask?
  • bunch of reasons to shove, and a couple reasons to justify calling ...

    but zero reasons to fold!
