DeepStacks Poker Tour Coming to Grey Eagle Casino Calgary

The DeepStacks Poker Tour has inked a deal with Grey Eagle Casino for September 20th to 28th 2014!

$1,100 Main with 100k gtd has been confirmed so far, with the Mouth, Grinder and Wade set to attend.

With OPT already having a strong relationship with DSPT, the announcement of a Canadian stop, at a reasonable buy in without a withholding tax is sure to be welcomed by some PFCers!

Plus, those that have visited Grey Eagle Casino will probably like it more with the new hotel scheduled to open later this year.

  • This sounds fun. I'll probably try to make it down for this. Do you know when they're expecting to come out with a full schedule including prelims?

Not gonna lie, think that's still a little ways out but will ask for a rough timeline. I know they will give tons and tons of notice.
  • Stating right now that a Forumer wins the Main Event.
  • My favourite room in Calgary... I'm there right now gabbbbbbapppppping

The floor manager (Joe) had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned this to him tonight.

PR just went out, contract was signed night before. He likely wasn't told yet as there are many fine details left to work out. I wouldn't judge him yet ;p
  • Nah...I like him. He and the guy from Caesar's Windsor do a really good job.
  • Anybody playing in Grey Eagle Casino for the $6,000 WPT Fallsview packages?

  • nope, I'm working...have no interest in heading to Niagara Falls anyhow. It will be interesting to see the turnout given how far away the event is from Calgary.
  • I think they will be able to fill a few packages. Being the last day of a series there are always guys willing to gamble it up for anything. Regina kamakazie single hand sats turn into an excuse to side bet, guys will play this if no other reason that to just play. 6k leaves enough for $600 return flight and a few nights, don't matter that is far away IMO
  • +1. If there was ever a satellite available here around Fallsview for WSOP-C River Rock, an army of us would take a shot at going all the way to BC.

  • I believe there were three WPT Fallsview packages awarded in Grey Eagle Casino yesterday. That's more than what both the PartyPoker online and Fallsview Casino awarded in $5,000 ME entries this weekend! :o

jontm, is that THE Kelly we know, or somebody with a totally different surname?
  • Someone messed the spelling up but that's the guy. I'm also a little suspicious there might be something off on the "Peter J Griffin" main event result lol

  • man doesnt that room rate suck?
  • I will enter jontm into one event $330 or lower of his choosing for 50% of his action...if it is a satellite and he gets a seat then I get 50% of that tournament.

  • It looks like GPI is going for global domination as it has partnered with the Canadian Poker Tour, Hendon Mob, Tournament Director, etc.

GPI and the Canadian Poker Tour Enter Into 2014 Partnership

Canadian Poker Tour Events for 2014. The only Ontario casino included is Great Blue Heron for now.

Looking at my HendonMob/GPI, my "Best Live Cash" of $17K is incorrect, along with the picture. I have > 3x than the earnings shown, but according to all the databases, I haven't cashed in a single tournament since 2009. :fish: I am #1 in Casino Rama tournament earnings since I started playing there, but Rama has never bothered to submit results, along with all the OLG poker rooms since 2009.

As for your missing results, put pressure on your favorite venues to submit them, they are even accepting Dailys and weeklies now. Hendon will take jpg etc and do all the manual reentry no cost, so even the laziest floor manager has no real excuse. Scan, take a pic, whatever...I've sent in hand written ones.

Hendon is a bit of a pet project for me, I found 3 years of CPT archives and phoned a bunch of casinos last year and we uped the players in the DB by like 6000. I've been able to have a lot of aliases or common misspellings linked as well, helping the accuracy but it's only as good as the info they receive.

If you find the info on another DB and as a player would like to retype those results and submit them in full, they will happily enter them, but they can't take a link or screenshot for copywrite reasons.

As for the pic, easily submitted as well.

Love that offer! Might have to look you up on that but you'd be better off staking Bren. I might have a $330 seat, will keep you posted. Then I could just sell half...I'm going to pop down for sure as I will have a role in DSPT events and need to show my face a bit in the venue, been awhile. I've had offer to help cover this with ca.PokerNews but we are super slammed at work so I'll be soaking up OT and committed to working 12th & 13th. Another reason Bren better horse if you serious as her work schedule is flexible.

Out of our last 5 league games she's placed 1st twice, 2nd twice, bricked one. (Online $20+$2 SNG)

She also plays most of the Alberta regs, easily gets into last 20% with chips, just been running into some shitty spots. You might remember last SuperStack in summer ran KK into AA of PFCers HipHopautomous, both hit sets, she busts a table out of money and he shipped. Her RIO deep run in 22nd was double average but with like 6m shoves KK into A10 with same he flops it... Out 22nd of 1302. Last YYC sat she bricked but then ran $200 to close to grand in $1/2

Figure Id throw sales pitch out there now as reminder, as regardless prob do another Rio BAP this year, but sticking there instead of any Venetian...

    LMK!

The player with the most points at the end of the series will receive cash for travel expenses, a VIP Suite and comps at Aria Resort and Casino, plus an entry into a major upcoming poker tournament in Las Vegas

I loved the Player of the Series competitions at Brantford and Point Edward Casinos, but they don't have them anymore in Ontario.:(
