What site and books are the best?

I've always loved poker, but decided to see how good I can make myself. I have read David Sklansky The Theory of Poker, both mental game of poker, and The poker tournament formula 1 and 2 by Snyder, Arnold. I was wondering if you guys coudl recommend some books you find useful? also what books to stay away from. And what site do you find the best? I'm most interested in tournament styled play. Thank you.

that begs the question, has there been any good poker books written recently? i personally can't think of any that have come out within the past few years that i would consider must reads.
  • Jonathan Little's books, or Phil Shaw's.

Nothing beats the classics though . . . Read Hellmuth's book.
  • is Phil gordon's little green book worth a read?

that actually was one of the first good poker books I ever read - personally I thought it was a fantastic book. I think it gave me the right foundation to apply some of the more advanced books to, and is definitely worth a read. The blue book is very good too, and there's a "gold" book that I have not read yet.

Now that you mention it maybe I'll finally pick that up!
  • ha! just found the gold book for 4 bucks brand new hardcover - they have the blue book too for 6 bucks. figured I would share:

  • Harrington on Expert No Limit Hold-em Tournament Strategy 1&2.I'm currently reading the first one and it's really good, has a lot of good info and tips in it.
  • I'm going to order another book from my favourite author, Ed Miller, from amazon.COM. Shipping will cost $9, but it's still much cheaper than ordering from amazon.CA where the book is sold for many times more at $91. :o If anybody I see at the casinos wants to order together from amazon.com, email or PM me by tomorrow.
  • Which book?
  • Emailed you. Next time you're returning to Fallsview, contact me via Facebook or Viber, etc.

  • damn, ed sure is proud of these at 90 bucks a piece...

I have all the Sklansky ones he was in on but none of his solo stuff... given the .com price I had no choice but to order - thanks for the heads up blondefish!
