CPT Event at GBH today

I am glad I got to my computer first - I get to start this post. It was great to see all the people there. Meet some of the new people, greet some old friends. GBH manager even arranged lunch for me - thanks, Lee.

It is my duty to report that Gamblor won his bet with several forumites. He was the last one left as of 4:00 pm. I think we'll hear more about this later.

I actually couldn't play since I had meetings at the casino, so I will leave the actual game reports to the participants, but the food looked great and as I said, it was nice to meet some new faces.

Cheers

  • kinda goofy responding to my own post, but I have to flame myself before anyone gets creative.

I was post happy and wanted to start a thread. Apologies
  • Shane (Gamblor) just called me. He is at the final table, which just started. He is in approx. 5th place with approx. 10XBB. Final table is 11 handed, top 10 pay. And, again, I have 10% of him.
  • Nice - when I left he was at 25k (8x BB) and we agreed that he should post and fold unless there was a serious move to be made.

Even when you lose, you win. Sigh

LOL. I need him to finish 4th or better, I think, to pay for my tournament today.
  • You up for mentoring a young Jedi? I must learn the way of the flush.
  • Go Gamblor!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyone know what the payouts?

    Cheers

  • I almost forgot.

And the award for BEST SUNGLASSES goes to....

    ... (drumroll)...

MAGITHIGHS. Who didn't wear sunglasses. But let me tell you what he DID wear. Cat's-eye contact lenses. Basically, milky white, with 'cat-shaped- vertical pupils.
    Scary? Oh yes, you betcha.
  • payouts roughly

    23K
    11.5K

    then I'm not sure.

    maybe 6K and 4K for 3rd and 4th?
  • ^it was a fun day and it was nice meeting some of you guys!

As for the payouts it paid top 10 with 11th getting lucky and the guys all chipped in 20$ for the 11’Th guy (he ended up with 220. $)... As for the major pay went to 1st and second who spilt the pot and then fought for the 1st place! Alex (the guy who was chip lead for most of the tourney won with 7 4 off suit)... As for the last two guys standing they are not only great guys but great players (and friends of mine might i add . . . i even got my pay for the tourney back!)

And if I’m not mistaken I believe it was Shane that finished 9 or 10th (not 100% sure) and later he was found at the blackjack table and tried to talk me into losing my money! lol

It was a great game with a ton of lucky breaks and some really really really REALLY BAD beats lol . . . and the food was good better than the last one in Feb. . .
  • I finished 7th after open-pushing AJs on the button for 70,000 and getting called by Alex's AKs.

I'm still not sure that the AK is teh correct call in that spot. As chip leader, there is a significant chance I have a pocket pair and getting involved in a 55-45 race for 75% of my chips, especially given his precarious chip lead.

Even if he does decide he's got me dominated (drawing to <3 outs i.e. AK vs. AJ), I'm still not sure I want to play a big pot for a big percentage of my stack with 3 supershort stacks out there who have good chance of busting and letting us move higher up the prize pool.

I assumed Alex was smart enough to lay down everything but AA or KK because of those short stacks, and meanwhile I'd be stealing blinds liberally to try to build a stack for the final 2 to 3.

And yes, you should have played blackjack. I briefly considered allowing you to hit on me for a bit, but I was inconsolable after my 7th place finish :)

    PM me your email address.

I hope you received a steady stream of AJs at the blackjack tables
  • 'Grats on the finish Shane. Thanks for the five bucks, ROFLMAO. I was Alex's table all day, and he won a monster pot with 99 vs KK (he called an equal big stack's all-in, preflop), AQ vs AK (he called a shortstack's all-in preflop, not a bad play at all) and he moved in with 55 on an A78 flop against what turned out to be AJ, I think. Turn 6, river 9.

Overall, I'm not classifying his play as bad. Aggressive is a better word. Although, to be fair, I thought his first call was horrible, and I told him so when he asked me, so I don't feel bad saying it here. (Classic 'small favourite/huge dog' case, against another big stack, for all of his chips.) In the second pot, his preflop raise committed him to call the all-in re-raise, and he got lucky. In the third pot, I believe it was heads-up, and his opponent checked to him. He bet the size of his opponent's stack, and was immediately called. Again, not a bad play... it's only the first one I hate.

Was it his lucky day? Oh yes. Yes it was. I didn't exactly follow Angel's post... did he finish in first place? And Angel, were you the player who had the AJ on that hand I just described where Alex had 55 and went runner runner straight? If so, I was sitting directly to your left, and it was nice playing with you.

LOL . . . at least you made it to the final table! i did want to play blackjack but my guys wanted to go home and in the end i had to cohort one of them to get off the table buy stealing most of his chips and cashing them in for him lol . . . now as for me hitting on you my do you have a big ego ;) lol naw your cute but sorry i have a bf n he was just a few feet away . . .

it wasn’t his lucky day . . . Alex is the devil! he an conjure up all sorts of flops that conveniently suit his cards . . . as anyone who witnessed pocket A's get KILLED by 10 4 off suit can tell you . . . now that was  well I don’t know what that was other than proff that Alex IS the devil lol . . . Alex did finish first but when it was the final two they made a deal that he would get i think it was 18g while second got 15g . . . and Yep that’s ME!!! :D He did make it up to me for that bad beat and promised me my buy in if he won . . . which he ended up doing both (he’s a great guy) :D i heard your a great player and you were super nice soooo i'm thrilled to have sat with you sorry if i talked too much . . . I know that can get annoying . . .
