  • Well I guess it's nice to know that T.O. cares about what the public thinks (maybe?). Not sure where I stand on this topic yet as there are so many pros and cons on either side. However, just thinking about the traffic downtown makes me cringe...

Easy take the GO train. I live in Scarborough and do it all the time.
  • Problem is coming back. Last train or bus back is 11?
  • Woodbine, FTW.
  • I think that a development like this would be good for Toronto. It will bring much needed jobs and tourism dollars. But I do think it will hurt Niagara Falls and Brantford. Maybe it will force Brantford to spread some NL?

The fact that Brantford doesnt spread NL isnt because they dont want to, it has to do with their status and OLG regulations pertaining to charity casinos.
  • Whatever the reason, they would probably have to spread NL or close if a resort casino opened in Toronto. I don't know, just speculating.

Not necessarily, Limit players are a different animal and if a game exists then they will go where it is. Obviously a new casino would spread NL since this is the popular game right now ... and this will hurt Rama and Niagara immediately. Brantford has a loyal following of Limit players (who don't play NL) so they will only feel it if the new casino offers both NL and Limit, which I hope they do.

I personally would still drive to Brantford or Port Perry to get my Limit fix if I can't get it locally , but for NL, there is Rama, NF, Woodbine and possibly a new casino so there is more choices.
  • The thing Niagara Falls has going for it is that it's already a destination spot for tourists besides those for the casinos. I still know people who drive down to Niagara Falls to look at the Falls.
