Pokerstars Satellite to Jan. 27th Brantford $550 Deepstack

I have set-up a satellite to the $550 Deepstack Tournament taking place at Brantford Casino on January 27th. The satellite will run on Pokerstars Home Games on January 24th at 8pm with 5,000 stacking stack and 20 minute blinds. The satellite is $30+$3 so we need 19 players to give away the $550 for the seat. $550 will be paid to the winners Pokerstars online account. This will be a winner take all payout.

I am working with Stars to see if I can increase the buy-in to $60 so we can give away the seat with only 10 players. Also trying to arrange with Stars that any excess will be paid to second, third, etc.

PM me if you are interested in playing in the satellite.

  • I'll be interested if I can sell the ticket since I'm in Calgary and won't be playing it...
  • The winner of the satellite will get cash deposited in their Pokerstars account. So there is no need to sell any ticket/voucher. Its more to try and get some local players together to play an online satellite with a winner take all format.

I am trying to limit the tournament to 10 or 20 players with first getting $550 and second/third the rest but you have limited payout options with the home games format on Stars. I could do this on Winner but its hard to get players to sign up to their site (seem to be a lot of issues with credit cards deposits).
  • I'd be interested in this.
  • Your big issue here is timing - many of the players who would be interested (like me) will be at the FPC on the 17th.

Good point, could add a new one for Jan. 15th as an alternative.
  • anymore interest if I change the date of this satellite to January 15th or 24th to not conflict with the Fallsview Poker Classic?
  • I have created a new satellite tournament for January 24th at 8:00pm so the satellite does not conflict with the Fallsview Poker Classic.

I can create a private tournament on Pokerstars but there is no way to control the payout structure and the starting stack/blind levels. With the Home Game format, it is a $30 + $3 buy-in with 5,000 starting stack which provides a lot more play.

  • ill play this most likely

Great. Sign up for my Pokerstars home game and I will notify you when the registration lobby is open.
  • Would likely play but I will be on the beach while you guys play this.... >:D

Hope you can get it going. I will join up next month if it runs again.

  • I might play this one if I have the funds.
  • Registration is now available for the Brantford Deepstack satellite on Pokerstars. If you can't make it to Fallsview this week, this is another opportunity to play a local deepstack tournament.
  • Joined the club. Can we make this an equity satellite ? say 15% to be distributed to those that played in the satty.
  • For this 'satellite' it is run through Pokerstars Home Game club. The winner gets the funds deposited to their Pokerstars account. They have the option of taking the cash if they prefer. So its hard to force someone to play if they don't want. Especially if they don't live in the area.

We could agree that if a forum member wins the satellite, they would play and agree to share an equity percentage? Would need to be a separate agreement.
  • Now that the Fallsview Poker Classic is history, this is the next decent upcoming tournament, which takes place next Sunday at Brantford. If you are interested, please sign up to the home game. We can still run it if there are less than 19 players and the winner can use the proceeds towards their buy-in to the tournament. Not limited to those in Ontario, you can still play and keep the funds if you win the tournament.
  • Are you sure there are even seats left for the deepstack? Especially on the 24th if the game is only a couple of days away. Plus even if the winner wants to play, there may be not seats left available no? I would be interested potentially if enough players and a seat is guaranteed to be open after the game on the 24th.

As the satellite is through Pokerstars, I have no way to control how the funds are paid out (i.e. I can't buy the seat in advance and get Stars to direct the tournament buy-ins to me). I moved the satellite to the 24th as to not conflict with the Fallsview series of tournaments so it is pretty close to the date of the tournament unfortunately. Hopefully the winner will still be able to arrange a seat to the tournament, if they decide to play in it.

This is an opportunity to play in an online satellite to win the buy-in to the tournament. The winner can decide what they want to do with the proceeds.

I would like to run a future satellite to the Casino Rama $400 Hollywood Poker Open series through Winner Poker. With Winner, I can get the buy-ins directed to my account, so I can arrange to buy the seat in advance, once the required number of players have signed up to the satellite (likely need 6 players to get the Rama satellite going).
  • Doesn't look like this satellite is going to happen. Had seven players sign up to the Home Game but none have signed up for the satellite. If these seven sign up for the satellite today, we can still run it and winner gets $210 towards the $550 buy-in.

If there are any other upcoming tournaments you want me to set-up a home game satellite for, let me know.
