Satellite to Fallsview Classic $1k - Interest

Was thinking of hosting a $50 online satellite to the $1k Fallsview Classic taking place in January. If there is any interest, please PM me and we can work out the details. Like to run it at the end of December.

  • Satellite details are now posted on the website. Date will be January 3rd at 7pm (Toronto time). $25 entry fee and need 20 players to give away the $1k seat.

  • was able to get a good structure for the tournament with a patience factor of 37 and skill level of 6. Starting stack is 4,000 with 20 minute blinds. Lot better structure than the Fallsview satellites.

    10/20
    15/30
    20/40
    50/100
    60/120
    80/160
    100/200
    100/200 25ant.
    etc...

Way better than the STS's structure but the super satellite structure at Fallsview isn't too bad (100 bigs, 30 min levels). But of course there is no super satellite to the $1k.:(

And this is still a better structure, IMO.
  • good opportunity to play in the $1k event for a $25 investment. This satellite starts with 200BB which is pretty good given the small buy-in.

I am planning to host future satellites to the major Great Blue Heron and Brantford events, which are currently not available on any online site. If there are any Ontario casino based tournaments you want me to host an online satellite for, let me know.
  • Don't you need 40 players @ $25 to equal 1k?

Nevermind, I see the site is subsidizing the buyin if you open a new account.
  • Where/ how do I play this?
  • Nvm figured it out

Yes, site is kicking in $30 a player for the satellite. Satellite will not be open to outside players (they can't even view the tournament in the lobby). Tournament 718007721 Fallsview Classic Satellite.

If we get less than 20 players registered, $50/player will still be paid out to the winner based on the number of registered players.
  • Are there any other upcoming local casino tournaments that players would be interested in playing in an online satellite to win a seat? Was thinking the Great Blue Heron or Brantford tournaments may be good options. Could also look at running weekly smaller buy-in tournament series if that is well received.
  • Well, had to cancel the satellite since there were not the required 20 players to run it. I guess it was a little over ambitious to think I could get 20 people to sign up for my first satellite. Had about 7-8 players show interest which was still pretty decent. The site seemed to have some issues with Canadian credit cards for deposits. Too bad since it would have been nice to send someone to the Fallsview Classic.

For the next satellite, I am running it through Stars on the Home Game platform. Hopefully we can get this one up and running to the Brantford $550 Deepstack. Thanks to those that showed some interest.
  • Jah, if your members were trying to deposit with TD Visa, my understanding is TD won't do business with P*. There are a number of other Canadian credit cards that have followed suit.
  • I know a sports forum that i can get a bunch of players.
I will play also..i can post on sportsfreaksonline if its not to late for
    tommorow..

    Cheers
  • My bmo prepaid blocked my card..but after calling them they took the block off.
I had no problems in the past with deposits..

Thanks, but I have already notified the site to cancel the tournament and those players that registered have been refunded their buy-ins.

I can arrange another tournament with the site for the next $1,090 Deepstack at Brantford scheduled for February 24th. It might be easier to set it up as a $110 +$10 buy-in tournament where each player will pay $90 and the site will kick in the remaining $30 per player. Would only need 10 players to run this satellite which is more feasible.

I am running another satellite to the $550 Brantford Deepstack on Stars if that interests you as a Home Game tournament? See link below for details:
