Wpt Seminole hard rock

Thinking I might go to this wpt $10,000 april 18th-23rd. Was just wondering if anyone has been here before? Would it be best to wire money to the casino? (assuming you can) or just claim it when at the airporte?
Anything to add would is greatly appreciated haha.

I would wire if that is an option -- customs can be uber douches when you are carrying more than 5k in cash. I have had myself and my car searched before for carrying as little as 5k on me driving down to US pokerz.

    down boy
  • I was @ Seminole in December.

Dont like the layout of the actual poker room but I cant imagine they run the WPT in there. Casino V nice.
  • You may also look at which bank you use here in canada and then find the US equivalent (both TD and RBC have USA equivalents). You can open a US acct at a branch in the states (giving you a debit card) and make transfers from the cdn acct to the US acct for use down there....

O really? how long does that take. Like if I set up an account, right away I could transfer or?

I was just told at my RBC branch that the RBCs in the US are no longer affiliated with RBC Canada...the lady I was speaking with at the bank seemed rather clueless
  • Hmmmm that's weird because the branch I spoke to told me I could just walk into the local rbc veridian (sp) branch and open an account.

The whole idea stemmed from having to carry money back and forth to vegas, so I was looking at options.

Sorry for the glimmer of hope.

dunno, everyone at my branch seems clueless so maybe you can do that
  • Im with TD, maybe Ill just go in and see what they say lol
  • Yeah they have TDs all in florida (for the snowbirds) you should be able to get something set up. Mind you I don't know how convenient the locations are from the casino.
  • I've been to the Poker room myself last year when visiting the parents. Its a nice place. I agree with Wetts that their poker room is not the greatest. I find it too crowded. They do have tournaments everyday, which is nice.

To play in the poker room you'll have to sign up for their member cards (the ones you put in the slots to get points).

As for wiring money, its true that RBC stopped affiliating with the Canadian banks last year sometime. I know for sure that TD is still affiliated with the Canadian banks.

Don't stay at the Hard Rock hotel as you'll pay a lot (Unless you get some kind of discount). They're lots of hotels near the beach that are well priced. The beach is about 5-10 minute drive from the casino.
  • Way too late but maybe info for next time... I am a CDN relocated to FL so know the room well. For most of the big events like this one they play them in the concert hall (Hard Rock Live) converted to a poker room so it's plenty big enough.

Pretty well organized but bring your hoodie (gets cold even for Canucks).
