ya that 3bet pre is suspect but maybe its not? maybe its fine you might have to be deeper tho.

but i would rather have suited junk if im going to use air to do it with

i feel like i read the hh wrong but post flop you want to have at least some equity when you bluff so that the times when you are wrong and you get looked up you still can suck out.

I don't really think it's a good spot to shove. Also, I'm not sure of the potsize on the flop but if I did this I'd most likely cbet a bit smaller. The problem I see with the turn here is that villain should be a bit aware that we may be 3betting him light and call with any ace, maybe even some 10x calls

Flop is decent to cbet, would be better if it was A84 but I'd be happy cbetting this and expect to get folds a decent % of the time (I'd cbet almost any flop but I'd definitely be HAPPY to cbet this one)

Sorry, definitely didn't put enough info into OP. Villain raised btn, had done this before and insta folded when he was reraised, so I figured he was raising light. He had shown himself to be very weak post flop and would almost snap fold if someone raised ahead of him. Not sure how long he took to call the flop, but it felt like he was calling me because he figured it was a cbet. Again, villain had shown a lot of weakness at this table, so I figured I could take it down.

Basically, he folded when I shoved the turn, but showed one ace. I was then a jerk and showed him my bluff, with the hopes of getting paid off with a big hand soon thereafter. Got exactly the spot I wanted about 10 hands later, QQ vs 55. He hit four cards for a straight

Anyhow, with the added info, is that a good spot to shove, knowing villain has shown a lot of weakness under pressure?

I love folding preflop. Don't talk yourself into bad spots like this.

So you raised. OK. You bet the flop, which is good once you got here. He called. The turn changed nothing. You must check/fold.

Agreed. I think I got very lucky that he folded and it was definitely not an optimal play without a lot more hands to base it on than 30 minutes at the same table.

Fold pre. As played, 3bet size is ok, prefer a little more being OOP. C-bet less on flop, 1/2-2/3 pot is all you need here. Once he calls the flop check/fold is the only option, IMO.
